I would beg Linked Universe fic writers to not start sentences with the words time, legend, wild, sky, four, wind, etc. And try to say 'the kingdom' instead of 'Hyrule' as much as possible, bc seeing a sentence go "Time passed by as Wind kept watch" and sitting there trying to figure out if we're passing an abstract concept or an entire man is distracting.

But like, it's also an adventure, and I'm sure it's something the guys have to deal with regularly. I imagine it leads to some nice misunderstandings.

Someone: Hey, remember what the legend said about the princess's sealing power?

Legend, in the next room: I said WHAT about the princesses stealing hour???

Things I ADORE about Twilight Princess(spoilers):

A Zelda who was not trapped or helpless, but chose to stay in the castle for the sake of her people, and had her own skills key in defeating Zant/Ganondorf (not just her powers)(I love the others too she's just sometimes favorite, pls don't hate me)

A Link who is allowed to be angry at his allies, for his own personal pain. The way he snaps and growls at Midna in the beginning when she's being a snarky little imp. I love to see it.

Traditional dungeons? Yeh but also this yeti couple has a mansion in the high, snowy mountains (where yetis live) and it's biiiigtime haunted. He gotta make soup for sick wife, but do they know where the ingredients are? In their own house? The kitchen or pantry, perhaps? No, you silly. Pls help them.

The same Link who's given a darker color scheme and an angry beast form - he's so smiley!!! He's like, something good happened? :) Something really good happened? :D I have a hard time with fully dark, broody portrayals of him bc it's so good that he is both.

(side note: I have a whole thing against Nintendo's affinity to sexualized adults flirting with children (not up for debate), but I enjoy Telma being Telma and Link is like ok anyway, thanks for the help :D )

I'm sad that "Modern AU" in LoZ fics is actually mostly just "Irl AU"

Bc a modern age Hyrule with cars, TVs, airplaines, etc doesn't mean by default that Demise and the Master Sword say "imma head out" and cease to exist. And it's so interesting to see magic stuff happen in modern society. My favorite one had the Ganon prophecies and hidden koroks and everything but it was abandoned like four years ago...

Anyway if you know any like that that are wholesome pls send them :D

"Musicals aren't realistic." Valid point!

But, and I mean this genuinely, because it seems sensitive - have you considered that fiction isn't realistic? There's a realism genre. Is that the only genre you like? If so, go on! If not, are you sure the realism is your complaint, or maybe just something you thought of that made sense to explain how you felt? It's possible that musicals make you feel embarrassed, or ashamed. Or maybe anxious, or uncomfortable, or dismissive. Maybe something else completely. That's okay, it probably isn't your fault - we all have emotional associations we don't understand and might reflexively explain away or avoid. But consider that something in your past made you feel that self-expression has to meet certain criteria to be praiseworthy. Does that fit your worldview? Does art need to be realistic? Or do you think you might be able to confront whatever feelings come up and learn to appreciate it instead of dismissing/avoiding? I hope you consider. If not, it's alright. But next time you want to say it "isn't realistic", try to remember whatever dragon movie or silly-physics cartoon or futuristic action you enjoyed last and try to think of a better explanation.

Ykw, I'm gonna try to stop worrying abt being annoying. I'm comparing myself to people I thought were annoying as a kid, but the thing is, I only felt that way bc my family instilled it in me that those people were annoying. They never were. I processed those feelings and traumas and now they don't annoy me anymore. It was all a deflection for overwhelm/anxiety in disguise. And if I overwhelm anybody they're always, always welcome to block me or click "not interested" – genuinely!! I do not have any right to be in your media space unless you want me there. I use "not interested" a lot for my own spiritual/mental health reasons.

I'm not annoying! You're not annoying either <3 "annoyed" is a feeling someone else has, not a state of being, I think.

So anyway I'm debating what my pinned post is gonna be now. Explaining my child psychology special interest? Better summaries of my WIPs? Another relatable meme by Hank Green? Oh wait crap I never followed Hank and John–
