Pain Patterns: the pseudo sciatica referral Pain is a funny thing and we can talk about it all day. However, most clients don’t care about what and why pain is there. They want the pain gone. The patterns of pain that have been observed and documented are real, and clients present and draw their pain in a replicable fashion. Todays observation is that of gluteus minimus. This lateral hip muscle innervated by the superior gluteal nerve is attributed with pseudo #sciatica like symptoms. Illustrated here in red is the classic lateral pain down the side of the leg. It’s not sciatica. I saw this yesterday in a very fit gentleman. During assessment, I had him perform a simple lunge on one side and the other. The difference in confidence between the two sides was easy to see. So we went to the wall for safety and worked on the entire lateral line. We used his confident side to learn and teach the painful side. @thedavidweck think I heard it from you first about dominant versus non dominant sides, and I think about it almost daily. #coiling #dominantside #painpatterns #triggerpoint #triggerpointtherapy #gluteusminimus #painrelief #sciaticarelief #sciaticatreatment #pseudosciatica #nervepain #painreferralpatterns #adaptablepolarity #balance https://www.instagram.com/p/CoXwMHEvnst/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
