Having finished three abstract placings this week, although my passion hasn’t waned, I am starting to see these more as an entry point rather than an end. - Meaning I’ve dipped my toe in that proverbial river that is never the same river, where the water happens to be running fast, and have been swept along a bit, but can see that things will change and morph and move, and that’s what it’s all about. - For instance: I can see these Abstract Placings having an offshoot into more figurative pieces, maybe made with paint along with objects. The key for me is to be aware as tributaries open, and not stay in water that may become stagnant. - Let me know in the comments - once you’ve found your entry point (see last week’s post), what other streams, or maybe rapids, do you see opening up? - Clockwise from left: “Night Hieroglyphics” / “Real Quiet” / “Belated Novelty” - #abstractplacings #paintingwithobjects #abstractarrangement #foundobjectart #pdxartist #theartofeverything #TaoE (at Portland, Oregon) https://www.instagram.com/p/CXzprpWFbdk/?utm_medium=tumblr
