Today we coined a new term at the gym. Butt spice. When your ass is sore from working out and everything you do afterwards hurts in a spicy butt sort of way. We were also joined at the gym by three random white girls, who we dubbed "the butt sculpting team." They literally only did butt related movements. It was strange and impressive. Afterwards we went to our favourite lunch place, Pa La Na's. I feel like, as we learn more Thai, we are slowly being more welcomed into local spots that are usually only Thai people. It feels good. We also were given some fruit to try, on the house, that are called "shampoo" or something that reeeeeeeally sounds like that by the locals. It turns out to be a rose apple, which are delicious by the way. The only thing we have learned, on our journeys into local only spots, would be not to ask questions. Just sit down. If you ask questions in English, you are going to get turned away. Ain't nobody got time for that. Back at home, Maggie and our housemate Marta have been rescuing any abandoned plants they can find and bringing them back to life. She even discovered one that looks impressively close to a big green dong. It's now trying to invade the neighbouring plant as we speak. Spreading its seed, no doubt. We've been taking Uber's a lot this week due to the promotion making damn near every ride 50 cents to a buck for us. It's been great. It's also introduced us to some things we hadn't realized were a thing yet, like Thai Rap Rock. For real. It's a thing. Like Thai Linkin Park or Korn. It's hilarious. We went for dinner with Maggie's folks at a sweet little restaurant and learned another fact. If you order curry, you will be racially profiled. If you're white, you get really creamy, non spicy, western curry. If you are Thai, you get watery, spicy as satan's butthole curry. It's just the way it is. While we were discussing this business, a gecko crawled onto the table and chilled out with us for a while. Ate some rice and drank condensation off the side of Maggie's drink. It is really cool to see more animals all the time here. We are loving it. Tomorrow, we head out on a hike to a lesser known temple up the mountain. Should be fun
