siiigh oh John.... Began my second attempt at reading Pale this summer and have been really invested! I don’t talk about my feelings on wildbow’s webserials on here very often but I’ve just been so totally gripped by the John Stiles & Lucy throughline in this book I have to talk a little about it 😫

One of my biggest worries my first time reading Pale was that I was soooo very invested in where it was going + the potential for a familiar relationship that it was a little scary to continue. Was worried it would be brushed aside/not focused on (can’t always trust wildbow to focus on the same things I value, alas) and that was too heartbreaking to consider. Luckily (and torturously!!) this was not the case!! Really crazy stuff and really impactful, it’s almost on the level of how I feel about Taylor in Worm where I’ll just cry any time I think too long about it 🥲

I’m crazy enough about it right now that I even made a playlist to be sad to, so for the smattering of Pale fans on here uhhh here’s my super mopey John/Lucy playlist. I am currently insane about them & grieving!!!!!!!

Sounds good to me! This is just like that time in Pale that someone ate a child alive and became a vessel for her dark power 😃 Which went perfectly and had no consequences at all!

reading Pale E.z part 1 and completely ignoring the major setting revelation about the Paths to freak out about avery and raquel what do you mean raquel is going back to the Musser tar pit to try to 'improve' things and no one is stopping her. Raquel Get Out Of There. You Will Not Break The Cycle.

what do you mean avery is trying to propose "practitioner arranged marriage but with tweaks so it's 'good' now" after 3.8 million words of pale saying "practitioner arranged marriage is bad, even the 'good' ones". Avery What Are You Doing.
