WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO and after 2 months and THREE whole periods of profound illness (which is why the quality is all over the place, most of these were made in a single day, color sketches essentially) we finally reached the end of Chapter One!

For something that is just supposed to keep my art skills sharp and advancing as I wait to finish my star wars AU writing and begin on that comic, PALHAI sure does have a special little place in my heart

I can't wait to see you all in Jango's Interlude: Fett Family Fishing! and again in Chapter 2!

Update schedule TBD - using this to keep my drawing muscles in shape, but I try for at least one page every two nights

Summery: In all its 49 years of operation, the Fett Family Fishing Company's trawler, The Perserverence, had drawn up some strange things in its nets; But as second generation Fisherman and Full-time nurse Kix Fett had to admit, pulling an apex predator and single father out of the ocean was definitely a first.

He honestly wouldn't mind getting to know the mermaid. Now, if only he could get the surly bastard to agree with him.

What I had to work with was this summery:

"Nihlus gets caught up in one of the nets of a fett fishing vessel near a more remote set of islands 

off of the coast of northern new zealand. Its Hardcase, Rex, and Jesse manning the boat when they catch him, thinking they must have accidentally pulled a shark with the weight until the bundle of fish started yelling at them.

Actually, it was a man in their bundle of fish. What the fuck? 

Turns out he was a mermaid, though. And he had places to be, so fucking let him out. And then he took one of their traps, shoved a shit ton of their fish into it, and telling them to shut the fuck up about the theft, they had pulled him out of the water, and he had a kid to feed. And then Nihlus threw himself back overboard. And that was the entirety of their first real encounter with the mermaids"

The Fett Fleet of Fishermen

okay okay okay okay

So Jango started the whole company forever ago right? then fucked around and found out for like 35 years straight worth of having kids. and well, Jango might not be a good man, but he is a responsible one. Makes sure them kids are taken care of, and the majority come to work for his very (suspiciously) profitable fishing company.

Jango has the Slave I, closer to a hobbiest vessel, it's mostly just him and Boba (the youngest) functioning as a maintenance vessel when their much larger ships come into port

The Perserverence, the Fett Family Fishing Company's first and oldest ship is not particularly large, and it doesn't often go out particularly far to see. Jango usually has it staffed more for nostalgia than it ringing in any significant portion of their profits. 'Captained' by Jesse, typical crew generally includes Hardcase, and Denal or Tup. Ocassionally, the latter two might be rotated out for Kix, their nurse brother on the island who helps out on his off week (for money and a favor to his father, not pleasure), whenever Tup has university and Denal gets whisked up by the Torrent.

Domino One and Two are the Pair trawlers Captained by Fives and Echo respectively with assorted and rotating crew

The Torrent is the 'Fleets' largest vessel, a deep sea factory vessel with a rotating crew of around 50 Captained by Cody and Rex in shifts. Contains the majority of the Two's respective units. Rex could not offer Kix enough money in the world to return to as the tempest's nurse, and Jesse enjoys his 'post'. Hardcase still gets swept up on occasion, what can he say, he loves hanging out with all his brothers.
