A constant burden, an endless plight.
Look at my handsome boy
Geck has malfunctioned.
Hey guys, I need some help regarding Pallus.
I bought them near the end of January at an expo when they were still super little. I didn’t weigh them until July, when they were 3.1g. Recently I weighed them and they weighed in at 3.7g. They’re almost a year old.. yet I haven’t really noticed any growth? I feel like they should be much larger at this point. They’ve never been super skinny - I can’t see ribs and they still have their tail. Since switching to bioactive I think they’ve been a lot happier because of the hiding places but I haven’t noticed them eating. I offer Pangaea Watermelon Mango mix every other day (and I wet it when it’s dry on the next day) so they have constant food, plus I offer small dubias and crickets. They’ve eaten an XS dubia once this week but no more.
My question is.. What am I doing wrong? Tank temps are 70-80 consistently. I turn the lights on at around 9am and turn them off around 9 or 10pm. Should I try a different Pangaea mix? Is Pallus just a slow grower?
Help!
Pallus' bioactive viv is doing AMAZINGLY and the temps are exactly where I need them to be. I always worried that it was too chilly, but it has been between 70 and 80 with the lights and I'm so excited to see its growth. It needs a bit more dirt, but that's about it!
Various photos of Pallus and their new bioactive enclosure. I’m loving it, and they are too!
I discovered last night that Pallus REALLY likes Phoenix worms, so I guess I've solved the issue of not eating bugs!
Are Crested Geckos slow growers? I swear Pallus hasn't grown a bit. I feed Pangea every day to every other day (just dampen if there's a good amount still in the tank) and (s)he's shown no interest in insects. I don't keep a light on her and temps have never been below 70 or above 90. She doesn't look thin, I'm just curious because she's so so small?????
