Clock Tower (Pam and Damon)
For the ever so lovely Pam. @hollandobae
What better to do than sit alone at a bar alone on a Saturday night? Probably a lot of things, but that's what Pam was doing. It had been a long hard day and all she needed was a drink, or nine. She was on her third drink when she noticed someone down the bar had been staring at her. He had a cold but also very warm expression on his face. He had hooded blue eyes, so blue that she could see them from where she was sitting. He wore a great big smirk on his lips as well. He swiftly picked up his newly filled glass of bourbon and walked over to Pam.
All Pam could think was, "Oh great, a drunk pig is going to hit on me." but she couldn't have been more wrong.
"I'm Damon. And who might you be?" although it didn't sound that much like a question.
"Pam, I'm sorry but I actually have to get going." Pam lied as she looked at the time displayed on her phone screen.
"Now, now. I don't bite." the smirk from before made a return to Damon's lips.
"I have a hard time believing that." Pam spat as she grabbed her bag and headed towards the door.
When Pam turned around he was no where to be seen. Maybe he had just moved onto the next girl. Pam rolled her eyes and turn back towards the door, only to run into her new friend, Damon.
"What the h-" Pam looked around confused as to how he got all the way across the room so fast "How?”
“I have many tricks, Pam. Why don’t you come along and I will show you some more.” Damon said as he extended his hand.
“How do I know you’re not some crazy murderer?” Pam asked.
“How do I know you’re not some crazy murderer?” Damon asked right back at Pam.
Pam raised her eyebrows as if to say “Good point.”
“So, are you coming or not? I have somewhere to show you.”
“I guess, but just so you know I have pepper spray and a taser with me.” Pam lied, she just didn’t want Damon to try anything. Damon just laughed.
Pam and Damon stepped outside and Damon looked up and pointed at the clock tower.
“There.”
“Wow, thats so lovely. You wanted to show me a clock tower that I have seen everyday every since I’ve moved here. Thank you for that.” Pam said sarcastically turning to her car.
“No, were going up there.” Damon grabbed her hand to stop her from going any farther.
“How the hell are we going to get up there. There aren’t any stairs, trust me, I’ve looked.” ever since Pam moved to Mystic Falls a year ago she has wanted to go up on the clock tower to look over the small town. She found peace in things like that.
“Do you trust me?” Damon asked.
“Well, I just met you, so no I do not trust you. But I really want to go up there so lets go.”
They crossed the street and stood directly under the ledge of the clock tower. Damon wrapped his arms around Pam.
“What the hell do you think you are doing?” Pam asked as she tried to wiggle out of his hold but he was too strong.
“Ready? Hold on.”
She didn’t know why, but she listened she wrapped her arms around Damon and held on tight, not knowing what to expect. She closed her eyes and felt a quick breeze, when she opened her eyes she was on the bell tower looking over all of Mystic Falls.
“What? How?” Pam was nearly speechless. She backed away from Damon, terrified.
Damon walked closer to Pam as she backed away. “Don’t be scared of me.” Damon said a little hurt.
With every step Damon took towards Pam she took another away.
“Please don’t hurt me.” Pam voice shook.
“Pam, please. I promise I won’t hurt you. I know, I just met you. You are probably terrified, but I feel like I know you. I feel the need to protect you. Let me please.” Damon took one more step towards Pam, and as if an instinct Pam took a step back. Her eyes widened as she slipped off the side of the bell tower. She was falling, and she was falling fast. This was it, she thought, this is how she is going to die. She braced herself for the impact of the ground, only to end up in the arms of her new friend.
Damon had caught her, and she didn’t know how he did it once again. Damon set her down and looked into her eyes “Don’t be scared.” he said as if trying to control her mind.
“How can I not be scared?” Pam yelled, she was starting to get a little upset. “What are you?”
Just like Pam, Damon became confused. How did his compulsion not work? “I am a… I’m a, uh, well, I am a vampire.” Damon finally admitted.
“A what? You’re kidding. Vampires aren’t real.” Pam scoffed, she was sick of all the lies Damon was telling her. “I’m leaving.” Pam started walking to her car as she dug through her purse for her keys, when she looked up she ran into Damon, except this time it wasn’t his face. He had veins popping out from under his now red eyes and he had something Pam never expected to see, fangs.
“Oh my god. You weren’t kidding when you said you were a vampire.” Pam found her keys in her purse and she put her sharpest key in-between her knuckles. She quickly pulled her hand out of her purse and threw her fist towards Damon’s torso, but he caught her hand before she has a chance to stab him with a car key.
“That wasn’t very nice.” Damon frowned. “Please, you need to understand this.”
“Look, I’m sorry. I really am, but I can’t just process this in two minutes. I need time to things about this. You seem like a great guy but I mean come on, you’re a goddamn vampire, Damon!” Pam was screaming at the top of her lungs.
“Okay, you know what? In a week I will check back in with you and you will let me know how you are handling all of this. Okay?” Damon proposed.
“Yeah, okay, whatever. But for now just leave me alone.” Pam walked to her car, got in, and drove away replaying the nights moments through her head. “I finally meet a guy and he is a fucking vampire, great.” Pam mumbled to herself.
