anxiety
it’s like all of a sudden it’s the end of the world
In one case it’s the bile that rises in my throat and my breathing quickens and all of a sudden I feel constricted and scared
I want to cry out and scream but I can’t force the air into my lungs because I’m breathing at such an erratic rate and the noises that come out are just sobs
tears stain my face as I bring my knees to my chest and wrap my arms around my legs, I’m consumed in the dark thoughts.
She places her and on my back and rubs circles into my shoulder blades, a sweet gesture but I feel as though it’s crushing me. I can’t push her away because if I unravel myself I feel like I’ll float away.
She becomes more nervous and grabs my arm. Hard. I cry harder and try my hardest to suck in breaths and calm myself down.
Minutes that seem as long as hours go by and I am finally able to compose myself. I look to her with wide eyes as I swipe the tears from my face.
“Don’t do that again. You scared me”
It’s worse when I’m alone
I sit down on my bed or in a corner to ground myself and make sure that I’m safe
I’m by myself to figure it out. It’s like a nice cry, only it isn’t nice and it just burns.
Sometimes there’s no tears at all. I find myself staring off into the distance and my eyes go glassy and wide
I’m transported inside my own head, that’s not very fun
Some times are better than others. Sometimes I can work through it and I’m okay. Sometimes I can’t, and that’s okay too.
I’m not attention seeking
I’m not lying
I’m not weird
I just had a really bad panic attack for the first time in a while and this video was a saving grace

ADHD in Adults: It’s More Common Than You Think
When we hear the term ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), most people imagine restless children struggling to focus in class. But here’s the truth — ADHD doesn’t magically disappear when you turn 18. In fact, many adults live with undiagnosed ADHD for years, often mislabeling it as laziness, forgetfulness, or “just being disorganized.”
Why ADHD in Adults is Often Missed
As a practicing psychiatrist, I’ve seen countless patients who come in complaining of anxiety, panic, or burnout — only to discover the underlying cause is ADHD. Adult ADHD symptoms look different than in children. Instead of running around and fidgeting, adults may experience:
Difficulty focusing on important tasks
Constantly starting but not finishing projects
Forgetting deadlines or appointments
Feeling restless or unable to relax
Emotional ups and downs
ADHD vs. Anxiety & Panic
Many adults with ADHD also struggle with anxiety or panic attacks. Why? Because constantly feeling “behind” or “overwhelmed” can take a toll on your nervous system. If you’ve been battling anxiety without a clear reason, it might be worth discussing ADHD with a psychiatrist.
The Good News
With the right diagnosis and treatment plan, ADHD can be managed effectively. This can include:
Medication
Therapy or coaching
Lifestyle changes like time-blocking and digital detox
Mindfulness practices
Final word from Dr. Sakshi Sharma: If you’ve always felt “different” when it comes to focus or organization, it’s not too late to seek help. ADHD is not a flaw — it’s a different way of thinking, and with the right tools, you can thrive.

Anyone knows a good panic attack relief app?
I'm absolutely terrified by snakes, I can't even see pictures of 'em, it'll immediately trigger a massive panic attack, and I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a good app I can use that can help me in dealing with this problem and sort of 'guide me'.
I tend to cry and hyperventilate so it'd be nice if it had some function that 'signals' those who are with me when that happens, like a message or something.
Thanks
