Malevolent episode going live wednesday night!!!!!! Wooo!!!!!
on me and the wife’s 3 year anniversary that’s deranged
Hear me out here, Sanji&Sora with some Reader
The straw hats stop at an island and everything is regular. Sanji is holding Sora’s hand as the two walk down the market and look at ingredients and snacks.
As they stop at a stand, Sanji has to momentarily let go of her hand, sadly the same moment something caught Sora’s eye.
She waddles on over and due to the crowded marketplace, Sanji can’t find her for the life of him. Obviously; cue the panic, sound the alarms, clear the streets, he’s going full panicked papa mode
Meanwhile, with Sora, the moment she realizes Sanji wasn’t in her line of sight, she also begins to panic (who wouldn’t)
Reader — who is managing a stand nearby — takes note of the child in distress and does their best to calm her down, maybe giving her a small treat, a seat, and some water
A bit of talking and Reader calls somebody over to watch the stand as they bring Sora beck to the Sunny. Obviously, none of the other Strawhats look like Sora, and while the little girl seemed familiar with the crew, Reader wants to meet her father face to face before they go on and leave a 5 year old with pirates
After around an hour or two of frantic searching, Sanji runs back to the ship to get everyone else looking until he spots his beautiful little girl drawing in a notepad he didn’t recognize, and more importantly, next to a person he didn’t recognize
You can end this however you’d like, but I definitely feel like after a lot of tight hugs Sora would get lightly scolded for leaving his side in such a crowded place
(I just realized I wrote like, a whole essay. Thank you for reading it through 😅)
Thank you for listening, and as always, you do not have to write this, but I think it would be a nice little one shot
Lots of Love,
Soap!
Thank you for requesting this ! Hope you enjoy this!
Sanji & Daughter Sora (OC)
The island was sunny and alive, bursting with color and sound — street musicians played, seagulls wheeled overhead, and the scent of sugar-glazed fruit filled the air. It was one of those rare peaceful days for the Straw Hats.
And in the middle of it all, Sanji strolled the marketplace with Sora’s tiny hand in his.
“Alright, cupcake,” he smiled down at her, “help me pick out the best strawberries. You’re the expert, after all.”
She beamed. “Yes, Papa!”
Everything was fine. Perfect, even.
Until…
One second.
That’s all it took.
Sanji reached for his wallet, distracted just a moment, and Sora’s hand slipped from his as something glittery caught her eye. A candy cart three stalls down. She waddled toward it, giggling softly.
By the time she turned around with a, “Papa?” —
— he was gone.
And when Sanji looked back?
She wasn’t there.
“SORA?!”
The tray of strawberries hit the ground. The vendor’s voice blurred into white noise. His blood went cold.
“SORA!!”
He bolted through the market, shoving through crowds, scanning every head, every corner, panic rising like flames under his skin.
“Sora!! PAPA’S HERE!! BABY?! ANSWER ME!!”
He was losing it. Fully, completely. Straw flying from his cigarette, footfalls slamming the cobblestone.
Meanwhile: A few stalls away…
You noticed the small girl first because she looked like a doll — pink dress, big ribbon, clutching a plush bunny. She was standing in front of your produce stand, trying very hard not to cry.
You knelt down slowly. “Hey there, sweetheart… are you okay?”
She blinked up at you, tears wobbling in her eyes. “I-I lost my Papa…”
Well, that just stabbed you right in the heart.
You got her some cold water. Offered a little mochi from your stock. Let her sit behind your stand, away from the noise. Slowly, the tears stopped. Her bunny got a napkin blanket. She started drawing — scribbles of a tall man with a curly eyebrow and hearts around his face.
“That your dad?”
“Uh-huh! He’s the best cook in the whole world! He makes strawberry shortcake just for me!”
You smiled. “Sounds like a great papa.”
“He is! …But he’s probably super worried now…”
That’s when you flagged down someone to watch your stand.
You walked her back to the Sunny
And when you got there, the ship didn’t look like a navy ship — or a merchant ship — but it was strange. Familiar faces greeted her by name. She clearly knew them. But you weren’t about to leave a five-year-old alone, even with friendly pirates.
“Is your dad here?”
“Not yet… but he’ll come!”
You stayed with her. Sat beside her on the dock. Let her use a pencil from your bag. She hummed while she drew, little legs swinging, bunny tucked in her lap.
You were still there when the yelling started.
Footsteps. Panic. A breathless shout:
“SORA?!”
Sanji’s voice broke like a whip through the air.
You turned just in time to see him sprinting across the docks — shirt rumpled, hair windswept, pure fire in his eyes — until he saw her.
And in that instant, he collapsed to his knees.
“Oh my god — mon bébé — you’re okay—”
She dropped her pencil. “PAPA!!”
Sora launched into his arms, and he caught her tight, arms wrapped around her like he could never let her go again. You looked away for a moment, because honestly, it felt too raw. Too real.
“You can’t do that to me, sweetie — my heart — I thought I lost you—”
“I’m sorry, Papa…” she sniffled. “I didn’t mean to. I just saw candy and then… and then…”
“Shh, shh — it’s okay. You’re safe. You’re safe now.”
He kissed her head, again and again.
Then… his gaze turned to you.
Sharp blue eyes softened as he took in the situation — your presence, the notepad in her lap, the water cup, the bunny blanket made of napkins.
He stood, brushing himself off, still clutching her in one arm.
“You… found her?”
“She found me, technically. I just did what anyone would.”
He exhaled hard — a shaky laugh. “Not anyone would. Thank you. Seriously. I owe you everything.”
“Just glad she’s alright.”
He paused, eyes narrowing slightly — not in suspicion, but in study. Then his voice dropped, suddenly formal, suddenly warm.
“I’m Sanji. Her father. And the cook aboard this ship.”
“I figured. She talked about your cake like it’s better than gold.”
That pulled a genuine, relieved chuckle from him. He ruffled Sora’s hair, heart still visibly thumping in his chest.
“You’ve got good taste, mon ange.”
Then to you, quieter:
“Really… thank you for keeping her safe. If there’s anything I can cook for you, consider it yours.”
Sora perked up. “Papa makes the best sweets ever!! You should have strawberry milk with us!”
You blinked.
Strawberry milk with pirates? Sure. Why not.
Later that evening, as Sora giggled at the dinner table with whipped cream on her nose, Sanji caught your eye across the room.
A quiet nod.
Not of obligation.
But of gratitude.
Because in the middle of a perfect storm, you were the calm that found his daughter — and brought her home.
