I just discovered the greatest comic to ever exist. It's called "Pants" by Mr. Joshua (aka Pants) (via)

How many comics have cheeks? They're so cheeky

Everyone and everything is adorable and crooked and delightful and warm-hearted

So absurd that it catches me off-guard when it's relatable. But he, Pants, knows you relate to them all. Even the most nonsensical ones strike some chord deep within your subconscious. You play dumb and say "how strange, I don't understand it," but Pants isn't fooled.

He makes no appeals to "adult humor" in any way: If a comic seems like it would go in a scandalous direction, it goes in a childish one instead. If you think a comic resembles a familiar humor you've seen before, he takes it in a surreal Dadaist direction instead, as if to tease you for even trying to figure it out! And when there ARE distinctly adult experiences, he's laughing at them, picking fun at the weird priorities we develop with age.

This naked person isn't harming anyone or being violent. The police don't have weapons drawn or seem scared, beyond their expression indicating the naked person is harder to catch than they expected. The naked person is just causing some riffraff and having a great time! We can laugh because Pants has always assured us nothing bad will happen to the characters. Not like in the world of grown-ups.

Apparently he's as obsessed with old men as I am.

I've been laughing at almost every one of them like a cackling baby. It scratches my itch for something that seems disturbing from the art style and the absurdity, but all punchlines end up being innocent.

Sometimes he hints at the darkness, but even then, it's in a sort of vulnerable way, and brings out empathy more than discomfort.

I love this cartoonist with my entire heart. I'm going to put each of these in a $200 frame.

Oh haha another relatable adult exp-- Are these supposed to be children??? No faces, no limbs, only CHEEKS, and the size of guinea pigs. Sure, why not. Lovely family, sir.

I can't ever do a comic now because perfection has already been achieved. I have nothing to add to the comic world. Nothing Pants hasn't already done. All I can do is learn from this master. I am humbled. I was taking everything too seriously. The more serious I got, the more ridiculous I actually was. He's teaching me a new philosophy on art and life. I'm a changed man. He's making me cry with ballpoint pen doodles and fart jokes.
