General Notes: Sugar and Jake have a run in at an old abandoned building in Lima Heights
Warnings: Crime and Violence
Sugar didn't know what exactly was wrong with her, just that everything was bugging her more than normal and everything felt blurry all the time. She drank to pass the time and to stay away from coke, and she still hadn't made any of her appointments. She knew the social worker would probably make a surprise visit any day now to check up on her, but she didn't care. She zipped up her backpack and headed out of the house. It had been a long time since she'd tagged anything, but she knew she needed to get some of her excess energy out somehow, and what better way than to do something creative and slightly destructive. She wandered down to the abandoned building on 5th and crossed around to the side alley. This would do. She looked around and dropped her backpack, pulling out a couple cans of spray paint.
Jake was slightly depressed and he did what he was used to doing these days,he grabbed a bottle of tequila and decided to get out of his house. He started walking and saw someone tagging a wall in the building he used to spend time in when he was looking for inspiration."What the hell are you doing?" he yelled as he ran to the building.
Sugar was startled when she heard a voice, and turned her head to see if she would need to run or fight, when she saw that it was only Mini Puckerman, she rolled her eyes and continued what she was doing. "Go away, little boy, I'm busy." She monotoned fixing the line she had messed up when she had jumped. She dropped the color she was using and picked up another, finally liking what she was seeing.
Jake was shocked that the person was Sugar, although he expected something like this from her."Are you fucking crazy?Or just drunk?" he said while taking the cans from her."Why the fuck are you doing this?".He was very protective of this building, because he spent most of his childhood there."I thought you were better than this"
Sugar spun on her heel when he grabbed her cans, shoving him hard against the wall. "Do not ever fucking touch my things!" She shouted at him, taking them back. "Why I'm here is my business, go the fuck away before you need to be hauled off in an ambulance, shit head." She turned back to her artwork, picking up a third color to finish it off before she would edge it and clear out.
Jake "Relax" he said as he got away from the wall."I won't go away but" he pulled out the tequila "want some?" He laid down in the ground and started drinking straight from the bottle "This shit is hard"
Sugar lifted an eyebrow at him as she sprayed more paint onto the wall. "Fuck no. Seriously, go find someone else to bother. Someone who likes you. Maybe you could pay someone." She sneered at him, eager to just get him away and carry on about her business
Jake "I won't fucking leave Sugar,so get used to this" he said before drinking to finish the half of the bottle left."This is my depression place,it will stay like that so you can even leave or just put up with this. What do you want to do?" he said getting up with the empty bottle in his and.
Sugar sighed heavily, rolling her eyes, she set the can down and turned to him. "Oh, you're depressed because some girl didn't want you? Get over it. Here's a tip: Be Less Psycho. Maybe people will like you more. Now, as for you leaving, it wasn't a fucking question. You're gonna get out of my face one way or another, it can either be on your feet on on a stretcher, your choice. Now walk away before I have to get violent you scum-sucking little nothing." She stepped up to him, getting in his face.
Jake "I'm fucking depressed because I was such a fucking dick to someone I really cared about" he threw the bottle to the ground out of anger "None of the options really work for me so just fucking put up with this"
Sugar took another step toward him so they were mere inches apart. "Get over it. Everyone has shit to deal with, you're not special." She reached out and shoved him hard against the wall again, satisfied that it would probably leave a bruise. "I will fuck you up."
Jake "Believe me,I have a lot of shit to deal with. This is just the problem that topped my shitty life".He did everything he could to not hit the wall, but he did."Fuck me up.Do it.I fucking need it" he yelled at Sugar while stepping away form the wall and her.
Sugar grabbed him by the shoulder and threw him back against the wall. "You had your chance to walk away, bitch, it's passed." She threw her fist up and punched him clean in the jaw, nicking the corner of his mouth with her ring, a spot of blood appearing. "Hit me back, do it. Give me a reason to kick the shit out of you." She yelled anger boiling inside of her, for everything.
Jake "I'll never, doesn't matter how much I hate you or how fucking pissed I am,put my hands on you" he said while checking how much blood was in the corner of his mouth "I do not want to end up like the shit head my father was" he whispered depressingly."You're a really great fighter, really didn't expect this" he said calmly while having his eyes shut waiting for the next hit
Sugar sighed disgustedly and shoved him against the wall again. "Yeah, so never fucking underestimate me again." She raised her hand and slapped him hard, turning his face with the force. She rolled her eyes. "Ugh, you're not even worth it, you're so fucking pathetic. Get the fuck out of my sight." She stepped away from him and picked up her can, edging her piece quickly.
Jake stood there for a second looking at Sugar's work."Nice graffiti" he said in a sincere manner but with a fake tone before leaving.
Sugar grabbed one of the empty cans and chunked it at him, hitting him in the back of the head. "I don't give a fuck about your opinion, go die in a hole, half-breed." She spat after him before turning to finish her work.
Jake turned around "Just take a compliment and don't complain" he smiled knowing it pissed her off and he just wanted to push her buttons."Have fun"
Sugar rolled her eyes and shook her head, he was so pathetic is wasn't even worth her time. She finished her tag and packed up, checking around for cops before turning the corner and heading back home. She made her way home, eager to have a drink.

General Notes: Sugar and Mercedes have a girls night in
Sugar got out of the shower and dried off before putting on her PINK by Victoria Secret sweat pants and a tank top. She was excited to hang with Mercedes and just have a chill night in. She tossed her hair up into a messy bun and ran downstairs, telling James to show Mercedes to the lounge when she arrived and headed in to kick her parents out and set up. She shooed her parents out of the large room and set up the supplies she and Mercedes would need for their night in. Snacks, mixers and most important, vodka. She stretched and poured herself a drink while she waited on her friend to show up.
Mercedes: got home after spending the afternoon with Joe and got ready to go over to Sugar's house to hang out. She slipped into a comfy pair of sweats and drove over to Sugar's. Walking to the door she rang the doorbell and waited for someone to answer. Seeing Sugar's butler open the door she smiled at him and followed him to the lounge. "Hey Sugar!" she said with a smile as she walked in. "Thanks for inviting me over. This is exactly what I needed." she said looking around at everything Sugar had laid out. "So how you been Sugs?"
Sugar looked up as Mercedes walked in and smiled. "Hey!" She started to pour the other girl a drink as well. "Ohh, fine, fine!" She waved her off, not wanting to talk about how crazy the past few days had been for her, the emotional roller coaster she was on, and how she hadn't done any of the stuff she was supposed to be doing post-rehab, she just wanted to chill and hang with her friend. She brought the drinks over and laid back on one of the couches, facing the other and gesturing for Mercedes to make herself comfortable on it. "Make yourself at home, Cedes!" She encouraged.
Mercedes: took a seat and study Sugar a little, she knew that the blow up with Brittany must still be bugging her but she didn't want to bring it up if she didn't want to talk about it. She slipped off her shoes and took a seat. She took the drink that Sugar handed her. "Thank you!" she said before taking a drink. "This is exactly what I needed tonight..just a night to kick back and relax. Especially with school starting soon" she said with a smirk. "Don't tell anyone but I'm actually kinda looking forward to school starting again...have a little normalcy after this summer you know."
Sugar sighed and leaned back, kicking her feet up. "Me too, girl! This is the best!" She ran her hand over her hair and smiled. "Yeah, this has been one crazy ass summer, a lot of shit has gone down, for sure!" She laughed, shaking her head at everything that had gone down. She took another long swig of her drink and smiled. "So, what have you been up to lately, haven't really seen you around." She questioned.
Mercedes: shook her head in agreement. "Not much really. Just trying to stay busy so I don't have to think about how screwed up my life really is." she said with a small smile before taking a drink. "You remember a while back when I told you about my dad? Well I decided to meet up with him..it didn't end well." she said with a shrug and took another drink. "But I don't really want to talk about anything sad tonight.."
Sugar pursed her lips and was about to ask, but Mercedes said she didn't want to talk about it, and Sugar could definitely understand that sentiment, so she bit her tongue. "So how's the boy toy?" She asked, even though her and Joe weren't really speaking and when they did they fought. Mercedes was still her friend and therefore, her relationship was important.
Mercedes: smiled as she mentioned her "boy toy". "Joe is good, he's just been working a lot so we don't get to spend that much time together." she said with a small pout. "But we are doing really good. We've been trying to plan a roadtrip for the two of us before the summer is over but it just depends on if he can get off of work to go." she said taking a drink. "Speaking of boy toys...what is going on with you and Puckerman?" she asked looking over at her friend.
Sugar smiled at her friend. "Good, that's good. I'm sure they'll at least give him a few days, I mean he works practically every day." She said. There were a lot of things about Joe that bothered Sugar, namely that he always tried to fix things before he really knew the problem, but she couldn't deny that he had stepped up as far as work was concerned. She bit her lip at the question and shrugged, taking another long gulp. "Nothing really.... he's been taking care of Hannah a lot, so I haven't seen him much, but that's probably for the best right now while I'm thinking." Or supposed to be thinking, she bit her lip again. "He texted me earlier, but when I texted back I never got a response, so I dunno." She finished off her drink and went to the bar to make another, bringing the bottle back with her. "You want another?" She asked.
Mercedes: "Yeah, thanks." she said handing her glass over to Sugar so she could refill it. "Ugh..you know what really sucks about being a girl...is that from the time we are little they set us up with all these fantasies of how wonderful love is and how you're supposed to fall in love with your prince charming and it will just make everything in the world perfect." she said taking a drink. "But that's not how the world works you know. I use to have fantasies of how perfect everything would be when I first fell in love. I mean I love Joe to death but nothing is ever as perfect as you first dream."
Sugar refilled her glass and clinked it with hers before drinking. "Mm, tell me about it! You have no idea what kind of unrealistic expectations Disney gave me about my hair!" She laughed, leaning back in her seat. "But yeah, I know what you mean! You dream of this guy sweeping you off your feet, flower petals and candles and shit.... it's never like that!" She shook her head and rolled her eyes with a laugh.
Mercedes: laughed with Sugar. "Exactly!, You imagine the songs and poems that they spend time making about you and them pronouncing their love for you as you look down from a balcony somewhere." she said laughing. "So flower petals and candles is that part of your fantasy Sugs? Mine have kinda always had a fireplace and wine." she said with a smirk.
Sugar laughed. "Right?! And they have to climb your hair." She laughed again. She leaned back crossing her legs and thought. "Mm, no, maybe when I was a kid but most of my fantasies these days are like really dirty or kinky..... there is one I have.... in this like, field of huge overgrown sunflowers, just laying on a blanket in the middle of it all." She smiled and shook her head, a slight blush coming to her face. "Fireplace and wine, huh? Bearskin rug too?" She teased, wiggling her eyebrows.
Mercedes: laughed, "But of course! What kinda fantasy would it be without the bearskin rug!?" she said still laughing. "Kinky fantasies humm, I wouldn't expect any less of you Sugar." she said with a teasing wink. "But a sunflower field is not that bad...it actually sounds kinda romantic. I assume you wouldn't be there alone right?" she smirked taking another drink.
Sugar laughed and shook her head. "Of course not, Ryan Gosling would be there." She said matter of factly, taking another long gulp. She licked her lips and tucked her legs into an indian style position. "So, speaking of kinky fantasies.... what's your kinkiest fantasy? And don't you dare say you don't have one!" She pointed an accusatory finger at the other girl as she leaned down to fill up her glass.
Mercedes: "Oh of course Ryan Gosling...you and your obsession Sugar I will never understand it." she said teasingly. Mercedes mouth dropped open as Sugar pointed her finger at her. "Me!, I don't know what you're talking about I'm innocent!" she said with a straight face before bursting out laughing. She took a large drink before rolling her eyes. "Alright, alright fine...but you can't tell anyone..ever!" Sighting she laid back, "Okay well I imagine it to start with lots of candles everywhere, me laying on a massage table and various oils are laid out to be used of course.." she said feeling her face get hot.
Sugar grinned. "He's just so scrumptious!" She giggled, sipping at her third drink of the night. She listened intently to Mercedes, leaning forward. She nodded, waiting for her to continue, waiting for the kinky part. "Uh huh? AND?" She urged with a laugh, leaning forward to grab some snacks to munch on.
Mercedes: laugh covering her face with her hand. " I'm not drunk enough for this. But fine, Okay my fantasy guy name's is Luke but he looks like a young Johnny Depp..anyway he comes in wearing nothing but a towel and he pours the warm oil down my back and starts massaging my back going lower with each pass.." she stops taking a drink. "I can't do this I'm too embarrassed. You tell me one of your fantasies and maybe I will be able to finish telling you mine!"
Sugar sits up. "NO WAY! You didn't even get to the kinky part!" She huffs and rolls her eyes. "Okay..... kinkiest..... let's see..... aside from the Church thing.... we're out somewhere public... very public and he wraps his arm around me and whispers everything he wants to do to me, in excruciating detail, until I cum, just from the words he's saying.... and then he gives me one, long, deep kiss and when he's finished.... he refuses to touch me for the rest of the day. No matter what. Until we get home. And then he fucks me until my voice goes hoarse." She smirks smugly and lifts an eyebrow. "Now you." She crosses her legs and swirls her drinks.
Mercedes: shook her head listening to Sugar. "Not bad." she said before sighing. "Okay fine..so after he is done with my back he takes off my towel and tells me to turn around so the can do my front..and well from there there's a lot touching and groping and then he crawls on top of the table and wraps my legs around him and..well we have sex..lots of sex.
Sugar stared at her deadpan for a few moments before speaking. "So missionary sex. That's..... that's seriously the kinkiest thing you can think of?!" She throws up her hands, exasperated. "I give you cumming in public and you give me missionary. With some oil." She shakes her head. "No whips? No chains? Not even a little food?!" She huffs agains. "Mercedes, I'm somewhat disappointed." She shakes her head again and leans back.
Mercedes: laughs, "I'm sorry! What do you want from me!...Joe is the only person I've ever done anything with and we haven't done any of that!" she admitted. "And besides I said we had lots of sex I didn't specify positions..so there." she said sticking her tongue out at Sugar. "I told you I'm not use to talking about this stuff. Besides don't you have some nonsexual fantasies too?"
Sugar had to think about that one, fantasies that were non-sexual.... she supposed she did, everyone had a couple, right? She gave a half shrug. "I guess I do..... what are yours?" She asked, refilling her glass for a fourth time, wondering if her non-sexual fantasies were normal or not. She was totally confident talking about sex, but talking about her dreams was an entirely different matter.
Mercedes: "Yes of course. For one there any and everywhere that is hell the far away from here." she said with a smile. "But seriously, my biggest one is of me being on a stage with just a microphone in my hand and a spotlight shining down on me. I look at to see a sea of millions of people...and there all there to see me. They are chanting and shouting my name then the music starts and a quiet falls over the crowed as I raise the mic to my lips. I start singing and once I'm finished everyone stands yelling and applauding wanting more. I see me traveling the world meeting different people seeing different things." she said smiling looking down. "I mean I know it will probably never happen..but that's why they are called fantasies right?"
Sugar smiled genuinely. "I think it could happen for you, Cedes, there's no reason it couldn't." She bit her lip and smiled again. She could totally see Mercedes up on stage with a million people in the audience, waiting to hear her voice, and she'd be there too, cheering right along with them.
Mercedes: smiled at Sugar's words. "You think so? I don't know..I mean I like to think I could but then I remember I just a girl from Lima..who would really want to give me a chance?" she said shrugging her shoulders. "But anyway now it's your turn."
Sugar shook her head. "You're a gorgeous girl with talent and determination, make them give you a chance!" She sighed and chewed on her bottom lip. "I..... well, I've always wanted to be a fashion designer. To go to Parsons or the Design Institute in LA.... but I'd never get into college, I'm not smart enough and my grades suck and I mean..... I'd probably be stuck as some pathetic corporate designer who designs uniforms.... if that." She shook her head.
Mercedes: "Sugar you should be one to talk..I mean you have fashion running through your veins. I mean the things you through together in no time flat...you should be a fashion designer! You are smart and maybe with some help you could raise your grades and get in no sweat." she said looking at Sugar. "Look at everything you've overcome so far Sugs..if this is something you really want you should go for it."
Sugar shrugged, she smiled though she didn't really believe it. "I'll drink to that!" She clinked her glass with Mercedes' and took a long gulp. She figured she still had two more years to figure it out anyway, why dwell on what might or might not happen. This was a night for laughing and good feelings, not for being an emotional wreck. "So.... is Joe like.... your perfect someone? The One. Or whatever?" She asked shyly.
Mercedes: took and drink and thought about it. "Okay well first of all I think I think we are still too young to really know if we have met the one person that we are supposed to be with for the rest of our lives. But..maybe..I mean I would like to think he is. He is so sweet and supportive and he loves me, but we are still young so who is to say that we will always feel the way we do now you know. So if I can have him forever I will happily keep him." she said with a smile. "What about you?, I mean do you think there is a perfect someone out there for you ?"
Sugar gave an exaggerated shrug. "How would I know about too young, I mean, I'm barely 17 and I've already been married and divorced. Well.... technically we never got divorced, but you know." She shrugged again and took a drink. "Yeah. I do." She said seriously, honestly. "Sometimes I think it's Puck, but who knows.... all I know is, my parents are madly, completely in love and ever since I can remember, I've wanted the same thing." She nodded to herself, shrugging for a third time.
Mercedes: "Well I can't say the same but it is a nice thought to imagine that there is one person out there that is your perfect match and you will be with them forever." she said taking a drink. "Well since we talking about it do you have a perfect wedding day fantasy?"
Sugar tilted her head to the side. "I kinda liked my wedding with Puck, just a huge party, good friends, awesome food. I think when I get married for real though, I'd like a real dress, and for it to be real." She laughed. "But, it didn't really feel like a joke up there, like.... when he kissed me. It felt kinda real.... I guess that's when it started, my feelings for him.... so I guess the joke was on me after all." She smiled sadly and pulled a knee up to her chest. After a moment, she took a breath and shook the thoughts from her head. This was supposed to be a fun night, and it would be if it killed her. She picked up the bottle of Grey Goose and smiled as brightly as she could manage. "'Nother drink?"
I barely hang up the phone before throwing it across the room. I run my hand through my hair, heaving a deep sigh. I can’t stand to be in the room any longer, so I head out of my door, not knowing where I’m going but just letting my feet take me. I come to a stop outside a familiar room; a room that allows me to be happy, with my friends who have no idea about how I really feel, because I never let it show. Pushing the door open and stepping in, the room is in total darkness apart from outside light filtering through the windows. My guitar is on its stand and I pick it up, walking over to the stool by the window and sitting. I start to play, letting the distraction take over me. The only problem this time; it doesn’t help. Maybe it’s gotten too much for me to handle, maybe I can’t cope anymore? Maybe I know all of this but refuse to admit it to myself? Admit that it’s all over. I don’t mean to, but a song slips from my head to my hands, strumming the strings and filling the air with music. Feeling like this song is the untold secrets that I‘ve been holding on to for far too long, I start to sing.
Let me hold you for the last time it’s the last chance to feel again
but you broke me now I can’t feel anything
I stop – when was the last time he hugged me? Before I came out and definitely before he stopped calling me his son. If I knew then what I know now, that, that would be the last time my father would ever hold me… I don’t think I would ever let go. Tears set, heavy in my eyes, but I don’t let them fall. I play; letting out my hurt and anger through the words as the memories come rushing back.
When I love you, it’s so untrue I can’t even convince myself When I’m speaking it’s the voice of someone else
Every single time I go home now, to the place where I should feel safe and like myself, I end up feeling like an unwanted stranger instead. If I try to speak to him, his expression changes instantly. I don’t think I will ever erase the look of disgust out of my mind.
Oh it tears me up I try to hold on, but it hurts too much I try to forgive, but it’s not enough to make it all okay
Shouldn’t it be easy, to try and forgive him? It isn’t. How can you forgive someone who no longer acknowledges your existence? Someone who just sends you away so they don’t have to see your face, or hear your voice.
You can’t play on broken strings you can’t feel anything that your heart don’t want to feel I can’t tell you something that ain’t real Oh the truth hurts and lies worse How can I give anymore when I love you a little less than before
There are times when I wish he had lied to me; told me he was okay with how I live. Anything would have been better than what he actually said. The conversation that still haunts me, to this very day, making me wake up screaming some nights after phone calls from home. The conversation that broke everything.
Oh what are we doing we are turning into dust playing house in the ruins of us
Spring break when I went home he was there for a day and then he left. Mom wouldn’t tell me why but I knew why. He couldn’t stand to stay in the same house as me.
Running back through the fire when there’s nothing left to save it’s like chasing the very last train when it’s too late
I don’t know why I’m still trying to fix things. Some things just break, unable to be fixed, but replaced, instead. My brothers and sisters are my replacements. The ‘golden children’ that he boasts about to his colleagues, saying how proud he is. While I stand there like a ghost, whose been forgotten a long time ago.
You can’t play on broken strings you can’t feel anything that your heart don’t want to feel I can’t tell you something that ain’t real, well the truth hurts and lies worse How can I give you anymore, when I love you a little less than before
Give up, I tell myself. Don’t care. Nothing is going to change. Nothing will ever change, so why hold on to something that doesn’t matter? But the truth is, if I let go of this, I let go of all hope.
Let me hold you for the last time it’s the last chance to feel again.
My hands freeze on the guitar, my whole body feeling numb and cold. The tears broke the hold I had over them a while ago. I stare out of the window for a moment, before getting up and placing the guitar back and walking out of the room, like it never happened. Putting on the happy front I always do, because that’s the only way for me to live through the pain.
I don't really know what to say. I can't say that I've regretted my decision to come here, it's definitely a lot more interesting then staying with you, no offence. I doubt you're watching the show, actually, has the show started to air? I guess there's a ton of things I don't know about this whole thing, but I'm seeing this through. You probably wouldn't believe me if I told you about the few people I've met but I'll say that I've almost become completely nocturnal. It's a lot easier to sleep during the day than it is at night. The people here have to most amazing stories, I know you've never been much of a fan on stories unless they involve someone getting laid in a crazy situation, but they're almost inspiring. Inspiring in the sort of way that you think "well that was morbid" and considering your life a lot better than you used to.
[[there needed to be a bit of for and after reaction from Dahlia for it to make sense, to me anyway, so under a read more it goes]]
Dahlia sat quietly in her room, she'd been locked away in her room all afternoon just because she'd smashed some painting of an ugly old dude. She assumed it had been the founder of this place, in which she thought it ought to be smashed. But that got her into lockdown for the rest of the day, which sucked for her. She lifted her head hearing a knock on the door and then a voice of a nurse came.
"Dahlia, Dahlia are you listening?"
She was silent for a moment before calling out "Yes, I'm here"
"There's a letter for you, I'm going to slip it under the door"
This made Dahlia rather confused. Her only family and friend was Damien and she doubted they'd let him have a pen. She'd been here a month and hadn't heard from her foster family since she was admitted. "Who is it from?" she asked, standing up and walking to her door.
"Your family, Dahlia"
"My foster family?"
"Yes"
Dahlia groaned and picked up the letter, she could almost predict what it would say as she walked back to her bed. She laid down and held the envelope above her head. Already opened, how typical. She thought, pulling the sheet of paper out of the envelope.
"Dear Dahlia,
I hope you know that this is for your own good. You were sick, this is an arrangement to help you get better. It is not because we didn't love you, we do love you and were just worried for you. I'm not sure if they nurses will let you write back but we would love to hear from you, Dahlia.
Love,
Your foster family, the Bells"
She scrunched the piece of paper in her hands, stood on her bed before jumping down and walking to her door. She shoved the scrunched piece of paper into the sleeve of her dress, before knocking on the door and yelling "Excuse me! Excuse me! I need to go to the bathroom!" until she heard the rattling of keys. She smiled at the woman who opened the door for her before walking straight past her on the familiar route to the bathroom. She slowed once she was around the corner, checking to see if anyone was around then moving aside one of the portraits to reveal a hole in the wall storing a couple of packets of cigarettes, a lighter, and a packet of matches. She grabbed the packet of matches before replacing the portrait and continuing the walk to the bathroom. Concealing the packet as much as she could in her hands. She pushed open the door, checked the stalls before pulling the scrunched piece of paper from her sleeve and placing it in a sink, then going into one of the stalls gathering a bundle of toilet paper and placing it in the sink also before striking a match and throwing it in to the sink
