A Dinner Fit for My Brother // Tony & Sharon
~Set on December 30th~
Staring in the mirror, Carter didn’t know whether to laugh or to cry. Her face was various shades of blue and browns, the cuts across her face were starting to heal up, but they would still sting if she tried to cover them up. If she wanted to sit, it would have to be at an angle to not pull at the stitches on her stomach, which also meant reaching for anything was out of the question. Overall, she was a piece of work.
Instead of dressing in lounge wear as she had done for the past week, she chose a warm sweater dress, thick tights, and long boots. She would be comfortable, but still presentable. And she could slip an ice pack or heating pad under the dress and no one would know. She covered her face and hands with makeup as best she could, but her injuries were still obvious. Choosing to play it safe, she grabbed a mask as she left the apartment. It was Iron Man themed, if that would save her anything.
The trip to Tony’s was shorter than she had expected, especially with the help of a speedy cab. She and her food were upstairs and in the kitchen before the hour was up. Before she started cooking, she tugged the mask low over her cheeks, feeling the ache around her eye, but wanting to stop questions before they began. “Jarvis? Where’s Tony?” She spoke without looking around her, trying to work with the bread dough and cut up green beans at the same time. “I want my brother’s help in the kitchen... then I can throw dough at him.”
His Sister in Red // Tony & Sharon
~Wedding Reception~
The dancing seemed to begin just after the final course was served. Sharon had always appreciated Tony’s taste in music, but she was grateful it started off with some slow strings instead of a fast-paced medley or hard rock. Guests needed time to digest and relax in their seats… no need to rush into some quick dancing.
As for the couple’s first dance, it was actually incredibly touching. Sharon leaned over to Pietro, slipping her hand around his waist as they watched the two newlyweds dance across the room. She knew they had danced together before, but she never really got to see them in action until tonight. But what she saw was a pleasure. They looked like the happiest dopes in the room, and her heart began to melt at their faces. Steve and Tony were a gift to the world, and there was no way they couldn’t end up together… just as she told Tony just a few days before.
It was just after the couple’s first dance that Carter rose from her seat and sidled over to the dance floor. But instead of calling out to her brother, she decided to wait to be noticed by him. It seemed more considerate instead of simply walking out and tearing the couple away. They had promised one another a dance, and Carter knew Stark would fulfill his promise. So she simply crossed her hands over one another, smiled, and waited, more than willing to let them move at their own pace.
Life’s Looking Up // Tony & Sharon
Sharon had been returning to work gradually over the last few weeks, and even though she had been out for a number of weeks, it felt like she never left. There was always a new mission, always a new piece of intel to figure out, and always a new villain to smack down. And after being locked up with Pietro and unable to leave his side for midnight fighting, Carter had been over the moon at the prospect of taking down problematic people.
As soon as her alarm went off to remind her of her new commitment, Sharon had been just as happy to change out of her suit, slip into a maroon dress, and walk over to Esther’s. Tony was always one of her top priorities, and she had missed him once life got too crazy to visit. She just hoped that he would stay safe and smart... one of which was more difficult than the other for the man.
Walking into the coffee shop, Sharon peeked around, hoping to find her brother before he found her. She was feeling more playful with the doom and death cloud seeming to lift off of the city. The vaccine was out, and everyone they cared about would get better. It took one hell of a long time, but it was about to be all over. With that mental reminder, Carter ordered a large coffee and some coffee cake, settling into a corner to wait for Tony. He could find her once he got there, and if she was feeling generous, he could have a bite of her cake.
You Said You Needed Me? // Tony & Fitz
After throwing his phone onto his bed and struggling up from the floor beside it, Leo scratched at his curls and moved to the bathroom. He wanted to take a shower and make a small effort for the man he considered his father. It was the least he could do- all things considered. It didn’t mean he would shave his scruff. . . but it was more progress than he was likely to make all day.
Once he stepped from the bathroom, he took his time buttoning up his shirt and slipping his tie down into his cardigan. It was easier for him to dress like his old self than to act like it, and he just hoped Tony was more focused on the project than the kid. He hated feeling like he kept dragging Stark down to his level of self-pity and sadness. It was getting far too old for Leo’s preference, but he knew there was no way he could stop his emotions- short of going and talking to a doctor. But that would mean he acknowledged the problem, and that wasn’t something Fitz was comfortable with yet. He would rather take the two weeks off from S.H.I.E.L.D. to lay on the floor and stare at the ceiling than go ask someone for medical help.
The moment Leo stepped out of the taxi, he felt a stone settle in his stomach. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to see Tony, he just didn’t want to be called out for something so personal. Squaring his shoulders, Fitz ducked his head and made his way through the tower’s lobby, entering whatever codes necessary until he got up to the R&D floor. That was where he finally lifted his chin up and looked around, trying to find Dad. “Tony?” He wandered over to the chairs, resisting the urge to sit in one for fear of not getting back up. “Didya pu’ tha kettle on?”
He’s Just a Kid // Tony & Fitz AU
He was right next to his mum when she slipped away; his hand was in hers and his face was actually dry. Leo was nine years old; his father was a mystery, his mother was his whole world, and now he was going to be alone forever. Clenching his jaw as tight as possible, Fitz looked over to the nurse and stared as she unhooked the heart monitor that had gone static hours ago. Everyone left him; even the lawyer his mother hired to ensure he would be taken care of. He half expected that to be his life now; everyone just shuffling him from one temporary caretaker to the next. What did he matter anyway? He was just a kid.
One of the things that really bit him was the fact that no one let him stay for his mother’s funeral. He saw the casket get carried away, but when he was shuffled into a car, they didn’t follow the box. He was zipped along the New York streets, right up to some giant tower. And when it came time to head up, he refused to leave the car; he was clutching a lego car in one hand, and the door handle in the other. He had no idea why he was here, or who was up there, but he didn’t want to leave. Not without something familiar or comforting or believable.
One of the men in the front seat literally grabbed him around the waist and pulled him out of the car, Leo just smacking his hands against the man’s biceps and crying out for his mom. He didn’t see the lawyer at the front steps until his voice cut through and demanded he stop shrieking- it was giving him a headache. He grabbed Leo around the shoulders and propelled him through the door, someone else grabbing his little suitcase and box of legos, and both escorted him up to some private floor in the tower.
Fitz stared down at his shows when someone new came by; this person a woman judging by her heels and bare legs. Apparently her name was ‘Pepper’ and she was going to take him to see someone ‘very special.’ He was the one that reached up and wrapped his little hand around hers, trusting her more than the men beside him. Together, they walked down the hall and paused by some glass door- staring in on a man who appeared to be doing nothing but studying a machine.
Daddy Issues ll Tony & Fitz
He was refusing to leave his room. Was it childish? Yes. Did he truly care? Not in the least. His bed was comfortable, he had more than enough food, and Netflix had updated a few series. He didn’t really want to see anyone, which was odd for the usually social engineer. He turned away offers to go out, he called in sick to S.H.I.E.L.D. any day they could spare him, and he stopped answering phone calls from anyone who was beyond a familial relation. He was drained- emotionally and physically.
After flying out to see his mum, and then meeting his dad for the first time since he was three, Leo went into a downward spiral. Fast. He never asked to meet his father, so to come home and see the man address him like they had known one another for so many years was unnerving. And then to see the disappointment and hear the comments he made when Leo had “left the room”. . . it was more than a little upsetting.
When the knock came on his front door a week into this pity-party, Fitz rolled over in bed and shoved a pillow over his head. If it was urgent, they had a key. If not, they could leave a message and wait for him to get back to them. As the pounding persisted, Leo burrowed deeper into the covers and contemplated actually getting up to answer the door. The prospect was horrifying, but if it would allow him more time to sleep, it almost seemed worth it. Before he could make any movements, he heard the lock click and the door swing open, announcing the arrival of someone he hadn’t heard from in over two weeks.
Of course, he didn’t get up to greet his guest. He just held his breath and hoped Tony wouldn’t find his way back to the bedroom. It would be mortifying for his idol to see him in such a state of decay, and it would only top the sundae that was ‘Leo’s Most Sucky Month’.

Kurt still wasn't in a good mood after his talk with Quinn, but decided he didn't care. He did mean a lot to Tony, he's the one that agreed to be boyfriends and if he didn't care about Kurt at least a little bit there was no way he would have agreed. Right? Kurt took a deep breath, not wanting Tony to know there was anything wrong. Sitting down on his bed, he grabbed his laptop and picked out his favorite list of musicals and got to put them in the order he wanted them to play. Instead of choosing his top ten, he managed to narrow it down to his top five favorites for the two to watch.
