Conic sections? Eccentricity? Directrix? Latus rectum? WHAT ARE THOSE?

Hearing such terms for the first time is intimidating. They make you question if you really are prepared to sacrifice your brain cells only to get confused after a few minutes of reading a learning guide. However, after actually diving into the topic, you will start to say, "Hey, it's not that bad."

At least, that's how the learning experience with parabolas was like for me. I'd give myself a pat in the back for daring to take on the topic. While I might have made a mistake in the process, in the long run, they were crucial so that I could understand the topic better.
