Anyways I figure this would be a good time to talk about Berry lily and her kingdom!
I mentioned her, and some of her kingdom in the beast ancients au fics/logs.
In the last mint rose drawing, there was angry flowers. Yes, that was intentional. They are angry and they bite.
In the beast ancients au fics/logs its also mentioned what her kingdom is like:
"Within the forests of tall trees and magical flowers, there was quite the number of hostile plants. Roses with teeth sharp enough to rip apart flesh, walking mushrooms attracted to the smell of rotting flesh, cookies appearing out of the dead, creatures made of plants that smelt like flowers, and birds that chirped happily even if they were covered in parasites using their body as a host."
In the first photo Berry lily is in the marsh area, in a bad mood after White lily tried to visit her.
Now the kingdom is on an island. The island was partly created by Berry lily. When she arrived, it was bare. No life. All life presently on the island was created by her hands only. The land is like the world of Alice in wonderland because at the time Berry lily was a child. With the dark flour war and then being betrayed by the one she thought she could trust, the book was what she found comfort in. Because she found comfort in the book and desired never to see her "mother" again, she created the island of Giant lilies. Her wonderland. Her safe haven.
Due to such circumstances, the island of Giant lilies is rather strange to most. Most, if not all of the life in Giant lilies was created by Berry lily.
The cookies appearing out of the dead are based off pine drops, saprophytes. They appear out of dead plants the most or crawl out the ground. Then they go to the kingdom and live normal lives. Due to how they appear they don't get much of a childhood, rather getting a short introduction to how things are. Then they choose interests and get assigned a job. Spores can be controlled as they are not released until their death. In which a worker will collect the spores and release them outside the kingdom.
There is lots of tall trees, except in the marsh area where they are more like mangroves.
The birds are fruit based, and sadly very vulnerable to parasites that started off as simple life forms that eventually learned how to take control of birds and use their bodies for survival. Half of the birds are infected, half are not. The parasites don't harm the females, as they need to produce young.
There is many hostile plants, like giant pitcher plants that will shallow you up if you get nearby. These plants vary in size and which plant they are. The most famous are the biting roses, especially the giant three on the gate named Bitixe. (A mix between the word bite and the name Trixie.)
Then we have the plant people. For example, Mint rose is one of them. Their insides do have organs, but are all made out of plant on the inside. As such they cannot handle spicy foods. They can eat meat, though it is extremely difficult for them to digest. So perfect for long missions in which food will be scarce. Most Plant people eat a lot of sugar or veggies. Fruit is also something they eat, and make juice out of. Each plant person is a combination of one leaf plant and one flower plant (Mint rose obviously being a mint plant and a rose plant).
The giant lilies, what the island is named after come in two varieties. One sentient and hostile. Another non-sentient. The second one is the reason the island smells of lilies. They are what also give the plant people their cycles. Much to some of their liking.
There is also various other wildlife like cats, dogs, mice, snake, etc.
There are three areas of the island: the beach, the marsh, and the forest.
The most of the island is forest, where the kingdom is located. This is also the location descried and most often talked about.
The marsh, is the one in the first picture. The trees are shorter here, often having lizards or semi aquatic animals hiding within its leaves.
The marsh is much harder to navigate, as life here is like in the amazon rainforest. Crocs, Macaws, Toucans, long electric eels, Giant otters, cougars, jaguars, poison dart frogs, amazon river dolphins, etc There are few spots of land, and most of those are caves or burrows. Many aquatic plants, most of which who rise out of the water. Typically the most dangerous, as you may be harmed in the crossfire of a croc trying to get its next meal.
(Though if you aren't a hostile enemy or someone she doesn't want visiting, the wildlife will obey her and not attack you. All life on the island obeys her)
The beach, not drawn yet, is the edge of the island.. Mostly sandy and filled with hermit crabs. As well as a few other beach species. What you'd usually expect...at least for an island a lil close to beast yeast.
The beach also has seashell people, often just called shell people. They are guardians who keep the unwanted away with seashell staffs that control the waves surrounding the island. Sadly these guardians are fragile, easy to break with an arrow or sword. Hence why they usually rely on the water to hold back attacks rather than their self. Sometimes they use their staff, but that too is fragile. It's not uncommon for workers to come and super glue the guardians back together.
There are many jobs, but the most common are: Farmer, servant in the castle, guide (who leads those looking for a safe haven, aka berry lily's kingdom), guardian repairer, and advisors who manage certain things of the kingdom as Berry lily requests.
Now, onto Berry lily's past!
Now I don't mind Polyancients, but despite them baking kids together with their traits they are not poly. Just friends.
Berry is one of the youngest, being 6 around time the dark flour war happened when most of the children were "grown" adults. With Cream cheese barely turning 18 before her death.
She was mostly with her mother White lily until White lily went to the faerie kingdom. She was left with Pure vanilla, who sometimes gave her to her other mother Hollyberry. On the day of the vanilla kingdom's destruction she was in the Pure vanilla kingdom with a caretaker. Her caretaker didn't survive as she focused on getting the children onto the airship.
Being a young child who didn't know better, she went up to Dark enchantress. She still saw her mom in Dark enchantress. To her, yes mom looked different, but she was mom.
Dark enchantress saw an opportunity and took in Berry lily, caring for her like a mother.
This went well until Berry lily overheard her say she was going to use Berry lily as a tool because she had White lily's magic. She lashed out and fled, ending up on the island which she soon made into a place full of life.
She made a kingdom, created mint rose, and made sure to keep as many people out of out it.... until other victims from the dark flour war stumbled upon her kingdom. To which she let others who needed a safe haven into her kingdom, creating a rumor of a safe place on the island of giant lilies.
