Gina, your latest reply to the "kids anon" is such an important insight that very few ppl either have or are willing to share. I'm single, 38, always wanted to be married & have kids but seems I'm destined to be single forever lol. I very briefly considered becoming a single parent sometime in the future. But I see my bro & his wife struggle with their 3 'typical' toddlers, I can't imagine raising even 1 kid alone among cuz of the expenses, lack of peace, sleep & the amount of sacrifice needed

I have a good friend who’s in your same boat (she’s just a little bit younger) and I’m always sending her TikToks about childless people living their dreams, and horrible stories about pregnancy. 🤣🤣🤣

Gotta love the one I just saw from Ebay: “10 Stylish Must-Haves for Moms”, featuring a Coachella-ready 30-something with a baby in her arms.

PLEASE, Tumblr and Ebay. A.) I have never looked like that in my life and b.) Most of the time, real moms leave the house completely unaware of the 7 booger/spit up/food/unidentified matter stains on their {old, ripped} shirt with crazy, non-sexy bedhead. And that’s even when I’m NOT heavily preggers.

A simple life.

My son is horrible in the morning, he is cranky and angry at life. Sometimes I think the devil slipped into him just before he woke. He gives me the evils as I poor his cereal and my husband tries to kiss him and he quite literally pushes him away! It’s not till I walk into Creche and I put him down that he realizes just how much he loves me, and then he cries for ten minutes and doesn’t let me leave. The irony. My daughter is a love bug in the morning, she hangs onto my legs so tight I have to lift my feet 10ft off the ground so I can walk, and she kisses my knees? Don’t ask me why! She loves knees. She kisses her dad all over his face and cuddles onto his neck as he leaves for work. But when it comes to dropping her at Creche, she’s gone as soon as I walk in the door. After dropping my kids off, I sometimes drive to the beach with my coffee and think about my life before becoming a parent. The sleep in’s, the morning sex, the simple breakfasts and half an hour showers. Did I enjoy life more before becoming a parent? Probably. But I love my kids, I love their smiles, I love their laughs and their bright eyes and the way they love me. But sometimes I wish I had waited just a little longer so I could enjoy a simple life with my husband where he wasn’t rushing out the door because my daughter held on a little too long, I miss when he had time to kiss me good bye. I miss when I had time to miss him in the mornings.
