Shitty little thing I colored of Fallout’s forgotten and miserable dog companion, Pariah Dog from Fallout 2! I almost never draw dogs so I don’t think the anatomy turned out all that great so forgive my mistakes lol.

Design notes:

That nasty tooth is the only tooth in his mouth. Poor guy will gum you to death

The eye that isn’t fully visible is completely blind and probably oozes gross stuff. It isn’t pleasant to look at.

He isn’t completely hairless, but what hair he does have is not at all soft. Imagine stubble but like… over most of his body lol

His tail has been cut or shot off, but it still wags at violent speeds.

I like to think if you give him all the love and care he needs he stops being so unlucky.

Indian native dogs, or pariah dogs, are one of the oldest landraces of dogs. While they are not a standardized breed they are generally characterized by a medium size, erect ears, a wedge shaped head, curly tail, and are often red/tan in color, but can also be black, black and tan, white, and black and white.

They survive off of garbage, animal carcasses, kind hearted people’s handouts, and hunting native wildlife. They are a threat to native wildlife.

India has an estimated total of 60-70 million free ranging dogs

Various methods of control have been implemented over the years, including capture, vaccinate, and release programs, capture neuter and release programs, and lethal culling, though the latter is illegal in many states.
