For explanation: This season the group phase will look different. Instead of playing three teams home & away, every team now plays six teams. Three of those at home, three away.

Instead of one ranking per group there will be one big ranking in general now. Meaning that it can happen that a third-ranked team in one group qualifies over a second-ranked team in another group on account of having more points in total. This way you don’t only compete against the teams in your own group but also against other teams when it comes to points in total and the goal difference. The men already established this system last season and it actually made things a lot more interesting.

However, this system also means that there won’t be direct revenge games anymore. Plus, it can happen that your team plays an amazing opponent…but only away. Hence, you can’t experience it live.

It will be something new for sure!
