I just finished ILB and, let’s talk about Parker.

Spoilers for ILB: 

So, let me see if I understand. Imogen, in the span of this book: 

Was there when her friend was drawned. 

Found out her parents were the leaders of some weird cult.

Agreed to be in some kind of initiation where she gained weird powers.

Saw her parents betray her friends (and turning out to be the bad guys) and them taking away said powers.

Lost her horse while he tried to save her.

Was there when his dad was stabbed to death.

Saw a lot of people dying while having to fight for her life and knowing her parents were the reason behind all that. 

Saw her horse now re-emerging as a zombie trying to kill her and subsequently dying. Again. 

Witnessed her mother sacrificing herself to save her, dying in a very gruesome way as well. 

What did she do? 

Kept fighting because she knew the cult was wrong and she couldn’t leave her friends even though she could have very easily sided with her parents. 

Once it was over she donated part of her inheritance, including her mansion and moved on to live downtown, while also taking the time to mourn and heal. 

Now, to Parker. During the span of this book: 

He went through the same things as the others, which included getting betrayed and fighting monsters.

Got in an altercation with his boss/father figure, accidentally killing him.

Panicked and left. 

What did he do after all of this was over?

Kept on being a cop, just moved out of town because he was ashamed. 

But sure, poor Parker. I don’t know in other playthroughs, but yeah, he sucked ass in mine.
