so we can stop trying to act so surprised and shocked by the way clarke acted because that is exactly the struggle abby was facing and this was all set up to parallel that exact same situation so that clarke could understand what it was like for her mother to let her go, hence helping her to make better decisions in the future (s6 bitchesss) in relation to her and madi’s livelihood
