About Cockatiels

Hardly anyone seems to talk about this but some cockatiels can be just as sassy as their larger counterparts.

They can also be demanding and throw temper tantrums!

Examples from my own tiels:

A few months after Sharlett and Data came home I went on a trip for a whole week. When I came back Sharlett said very sternly: "NO!" Apparently going on vacation was not approved by my feathered overlords.

I tried to give Data a bath. He made the angriest noise I've ever heard out of one bird and then wouldn't talk to me.

Sometimes Sharlett will get close to Data and he gets mad at her and mutters under his breath "step up".

Data likes to do his impression of a car alarm which annoys his sister. She learned the "click" sound of someone shutting off the car alarm and uses it to try and shut him up.

When I got back from a two day trip this year, I got welcomed back with bites from Data because I didn't have his permission to go on vacation.

I got called a "bastard" by Data for putting him in his travel carrier to go to the vet.

My dad was talking to Data recently but wasn't getting him out which annoyed Data. Dad was unloading the dishwasher when he heard his sassiness say "Dumb boy."

Am I the only one with sassy cockatiels or something?
