There are literally people during the scene where Pete grabbed the knife from Vegas going "omg what's wrong with him?" and I'm just like... do you not know what's literally happening to him right now?
You know what, there will always be people who don't understand a pairing or character, especially on that's deeply emotionally invested in the aftereffects of abuse and trauma. And that's just the way the world goes.
There will always be people who cannot understand the final string snapping or the feeling of someone who has been trying to find himself for a lifetime finally finding the parts of himself he'd hoped he'd buried long ago.
That's just the nature of the human condition, just the nature of the way people watch shows and analyze characters. There will always be people who don't see the same things or who see things different ways and a big part of fandom is accepting that.
It's not about criticizing them because they see it differently, it's about realizing that what you see in a show is always going to be different than other people.
As someone who sees any post doing a deep analysis on the main pairing and just... scrolls fast because I know I won't agree, look, it's really important to understand that everyone in the fandom is going to see things differently and you need to accept that.
You can talk about it here, definitely, and I get it. But I will also just be honest that people are always going to view the characters differently and that's just a fact. It can be fascinating, it can be frustrating, but it's part and parcel of being in a fandom.
It's wild, though, with Pete. I avoid most meta about the show so... I dunno. I don't know what people are saying because I don't want to know, for the most part.
