En muista saati löydä kysyikö joku tästä jo, mutta ennätitkö käydä katsomassa Helsingin Ateneumissa gothic modern -näyttelyn? Ymmärrän siis toki sijainnin kannalta jos se jäi välistä, mutta se vaikutti näyttelyltä sun makuusi. :-)

Jep, kävin varta vasten viikonloppureissulla Helsingissä katsomassa sen ja HAMin Tove Jansson-näyttelyn tuossa joulun alla :>

Ateneumissa oli monta sellaista Gallen-Kallelaa ja Hugo Simbergiä, joita en ollut aiemmin nähnyt paikan päällä, sekä yllättävän paljon Edvard Munchin teoksia. Tupakoiva Luuranko on nyt ensimmäinen ja toistaiseksi ainoa Van Gogh jonka olen päässyt katsomaan livenä. Kaiken kaikkiaan vaikuttava valikoima. Tämänkin (Death and the Maiden, Marianne Stokes, 1908) olen nähnyt sen seitsemäntoista kertaa ympäri nettiä, oli hurjaa törmätä siihen kasvotusten!

Hi! First of all, you have such a wonderful blog! I wonder if you could advise me where I can find more information about the skeksis. I've obviously seen the movie and AOR, but I'd like to know if the books have more info about the characters, and if so, which books? Or anything. Just anything canon, even small trivia, just more about THEM. Don't get me wrong, I love the whole Thra and the lore interests me, but as you (without a doubt) understand, I have a soft spot for the skeksis.

Okay, so here’s a quick run-down of other Dark Crystal material where you can immerse yourself in the lore (and skeksis!)There’s the four YA books by JM Lee that somewhat blend into AOR (it features characters you have met in AOR and others! including two skeksis we did not see in the first season at all)

I would also highly recommend The Dark Crystal novelisation by A.C.H Smith as it goes into much more depth with the lore and descriptions of the skeksis and the world of Thra than what is touched upon in the original movie (personally I love this book, it is so rich and beautifully written.)

I also recommend Jim Henson’s The Dark Crystal Creation Myths for more lore, more history, they really capture the feel of Dark Crystal better than the more recent comics, in my opinion anyway.

For trivia and other random information I recommend using the Dark Crystal wiki and their main website has a beautiful timeline and other resources that appear to be updated frequently and neatly for Age of Resistance 

honestly I’ve probably forgotten some – there’s so much to explore with Thra that there is a whole lot of lore out there to find and digest, and with Age of Resistance’s success, even more to come I am sure! but none of it is absolutely necessary to purchase / read in order to understand the world -- but rather, for you to read at your leisure and enjoy I hope this helps in any way – enjoy your journey through Thra!

Is Scrooge McDuck furrybait?

Ah yes, this has been sitting so long in the inbox that not only has it fermented, it has rotted away. Some mods have been sloughing their duties for so long. I think this was genuinely submitted when Scrooge had just recently gotten a redesign and voice by David Tenant. This question is that old.

So, as I have mentioned him already, I will go with the contemporary design for the character. I do know about that one image from the comics that people cite for the inspiration of furry “hobbies.” I refuse to use it. Another thing to address is his obsession with hoarded wealth. Like if he’s your type and you’re his, then I suppose some financial arrangements may develop. Thing is, though, I think he’s been simply the nephews’ uncle for a reason. Have you seen any of his children? No, because he’s wise enough to know when people would be gold diggers. Where am I going with this? Frankly, he’s just furbait. I gave my argument and there’s the conclusion. Scrooge McDuck is furbait.

hyvin keskinkertainen 90-luvun disneyksi :/ jälleen: hauskoja yksittäisiä elementtejä (hades, u know, tällaset hahmot), mutta jotenkin juostenkustun olonen. disney nyt ylipäätään on aika onneton klassisen lähdemateriaalin suhteen mutta herkules on ehkä surkein esimerkki siitä

dubbausta en kyllä muista sen erityisemmin, vaikka ei olekaan niin monta vuotta kun sen uudestaan katoin! pitää tsekata uudelleen. muistelen että tykkäsin? laura voutilaisen “i won’t say i’m in love” on kyllä valloittava, oon soittanu sen ihan puhki.

After seeing @fuckrockerduck524‘s really cute Rockerduck sprite for the ducktales nes game I was inspired to try and design a possible ducktales remastered version of that sprite, and two variants! I made his hair as a single block because I thought that this probably was more animator friendly than the individual black hairs. It was cute at first, but the more I experimented with it in my style the more it looked like it was too much XD In the end drawing his hair as a wild mess of black lines somehow looks better, who would have thought! I’m also tagging @partapotso because I know they’re a Rockerduck fan as well, I just followed you but I see you’re already a pretty cool person! :D

Noticed from Vasco's Toyhouse page that you know Dead Can Dance! What an incredible band. Do you have any favourites by them, if you've listened to them more?

I think the entirety of The Serpent's Egg just really hit the chord with me, I replayed it obsessively for a while. This old piece from way back 2015 was inspired by Orbis de Ignis, which I think is still my favorite track of theirs:
