Could you perhaps give me some headcanons for Steven and petal?

                                                          I have one in particular.

Sometime after Steven met Petal, he persuaded a conversation out of her. Poking and prodding led him to gathering a bit of information about Petal, and that information was simply this: Petal loved heavy metal.

This threw Steven off. Pearls were so elegant. Their musical tastes usually followed suit. But Petal was different. She was rigid and rough, with a tough as nails exterior. And her musical tastes seemed to follow.

This led Steven to inquire more. Had she ever been to a metal show? When she sang, did she sing heavy metal? Was her metal band called Petal Metal? Because if it wasn’t, she missed out on a golden opportunity, he felt.

He knew what metal was, though the first and only exposure he ever had was when his dad mistakenly put a burned metal CD into the CD player of his van after Steven had told him about being kidnapped by Jasper and Peridot.

Honestly, metal wasn’t something Steven had a particular taste for. Maybe it was thanks to that one experience as he watched his own father hyperventilate over all the trouble his son had gotten into. But Steven was older now.

That meant getting a new perspective on things. He met a Pearl named Petal who loved metal, and by gosh, he was going to experience metal with Petal! Thus, Steven asked her about going to a show.

That’s right, Steven Universe experienced his first (and so far only) heavy metal concert with Petal. Petal introduced Steven to metal and mosh pits. And at first, it was a terrifying experience. People thrashed into each other, drank heavily, made some not-so-great choices, and seemed really, really angry. He was scared, but...

Petal took Steven’s hand, however, and helped open his eyes to the culture. When someone fell in a mosh pit, the pit stopped moshing. The music was loud and angry, but meaningful to so many people in the audience. It was a culture all its own, and the more he saw Petal’s love for it shine through, the more he began to understand it.

By the end of the show, Steven was even headbanging with the rest of them. And as they walked out of the show, he asked Petal if she could find him a cool jacket like hers.

“ Ever thought of painting? You could paint your feelings out. Or you could just do it as a hobby to pass the time. ” While this was effective for Vincent, he wasn’t sure if this works for everyone.

Hannah had been trying to hide her mistake... and not very well. The fire hydrant gushed with water and she’d tried hiding her very noticeable crystals beneath a blanket. 

“Um... yes? I was... walking... and saw this hydrant broken with this blanket over some rocks... and... yeah. Somebody should call someone to fix it.” Hannah was doing her best to lie through her teeth. No one was suppose to know about what she could do after all.

1. Even tho she’s pretty much Harley’s main voice actress now... I actually don’t like Tara Str0ng’s voice for Harley. Compared to Arleen, and even other voice actresses Harley has had, it’s just... too annoying. Tara Str0ng isn’t particularly a bad voice actress, but the way she does Harley’s voice is just grating to my ears. It’s far too... squeaky in my opinion? Arleen did a way better job. And even people like Kaley, while she may not do a perfect Harley voice... it’s less annoying imo.

2. I like Harley with short hair! Like in Wh!te Knight or whatever. Maybe it’s just because I prefer shorter hair in general for most characters/designs. But I would like to see Harley with hair like this more often... I think it looks very cute! 

3. And these are just points I agree with that you’ve already made, but I can point them out in my own post. I do think Harley should’ve always been a little bad from the beginning. Even if not straight up evil, she should’ve always had questionable morals prior to meeting J0ker. I get that the point is J0ker is so manipulative and Bat’s Scariest Villain Ever that he can turn anyone except Bat and Gordon insane. But to me, it’s just more realistic for Harley to have always had questionable and/or fucked up morals. Especially since, well... she does some very fucked up things with J0ker. And often times, the comics portray her doing FUCKED UP things! Imo, most of the rogues... (unless they’re characters like Freeze, who lost his wife, and his rage is more understandable... and often times, he’s not even portrayed as bad) should always have been morally questionable from nearly the beginning. 

Even though I often portray Ed as a sweet kid, he begins to form into more like R!ddler when he’s a teenager; already having homicidal ideals, getting into fights with other teenagers, and was generally unhappy/angry most of the time. Buuuuuut... I’m also, funny enough, the OPPOSITE of you! I tend to portray Ed not as evil as he is in the comics. I guess because you’re unhappy that female characters can’t be portrayed as completely evil, while I guess I’m unhappy that many of the male characters are portrayed as irredeemable. And not only that, I just always loved the idea of Ed doing things because he thinks they’re genuinely good, over him just doing something because he Likes The Game Of Wits. So, y’know... younger, I don’t have to portray him as bad... since I don’t portray him as bad as usual anyways.

4. This is sort of related to Harley because of what you were complaining about. But while I’m a big supporter of characters being reformed. I obviously want Ed to reform. But I do agree that Harley, nor any villain (including Ed) shouldn’t be a part of the Batf/am. Mostly because the villains have all done pretty bad things to them. Even if I said above I don’t portray Ed as evil as he typically is... even my portrayal is CONSTANTLY trying to kill Bat, probably the other members (as long as they’re above age.) Therefore, even if Bat wants to save the villains... I imagine it’ll be pretty hard to be buddy-buddy with them even after they’ve reformed and recovered. I can imagine them being on friendly terms, definitely! But going as far as considering them family? Ehhh... not to mention, most of the Batf/am consists of people Bruce has found when they were children. So, to invite these unrelated adults into the Batf/am is just... odd? The only time I’d really accept it is one of the members are dating the reformed villain, and they’re practically married. OR, if we’ve seen actual development of the reformed character OVER A LONG PERIOD OF TIME proving their trust, and becoming true friends with Bat or anyone else. But like... this will have to be a SLOW BURN thing. And perhaps that’ll be satisfying to watch. But them just becoming a part of the family merely after reforming... or not long... just doesn’t feel right?
