I understand that we are sometimes, as people, we do not know where God may lead us. Sometimes there are obstacles that get in the way of our lives, but we must be able to see past those obstacles and move towards a greater purpose in life. The analogy to the story of the parting of the red sea is how God instilled his power to man, just so that his people would be free. This story utilizes the red sea as a block for the Israelites from freedom. Similarly we might have trouble crossing some red seas of our own, whether it is in our jobs, studies, or even in relationships. This story ultimately carries the meaning of faith, which leads to freedom. The freedom that the Israelites were chasing was based upon the belief in God and escape from slavery. We may be slaves as well to certain types of beliefs that we may feel tied down to, but if we are able to solve our conflicts and open our perspectives, we may be able to escape the closed mindedness that we have. We must constantly cross our red seas aka our conflicts because they are what holds us back from seeing that God is present within everyone. Our problems may even hinder our ability to handle certain emotions in our lives, but we as people have developed a strong basis through our friends, family, and beliefs. These main roots in our lives empower us to be able to cross the red seas in our lives. This story also has the intention of illustrating what problems we have at hand. The Israelites felt trapped in by the red sea, there was no other place to go, yet Moses, a leader chosen by God, parted the red sea so that the he could lead his people. We can also look at this as an opportunity to unite as people, just as the Israelites did when they followed Moses, and take on problems that are relevant in our world today. People become empowered when they work with others, and that concept of unity is what allows for people to defeat the problems that lie in front of them. God will always have a way of opening up the ocean of problems that we have, but we must be able to reach out to him for his guidance in helping us. We as people cannot do it alone because we can only go so far as individuals, but as individuals unite from their various backgrounds, we are no longer trapped in by these oceans. We are actually capable of solving a variety of problems that hold us back from the truth in our beliefs. This truth is what we should seek our as humans, just as Moses did. Moses led his people through the red sea because God guided him and empowered him to get past the problem ahead. God can empower all of us to do the same.
