“It’s worth more than you think.” The glowing green in his eyes gradually dulled, revealing the soft hazel that it had replaced. Rubbing at his eyes to help speed up the process, his gaze was anywhere but directly on her as he spoke. “You’re not the only one who’s used to being a second choice, you know? We both deserve better than that.” A soft sigh slips past his lips, finally turning his attention to her as he stepped closer. “But, I think it’s more than obvious and goes without saying, I always liked you, too. I don’t need to know what happened, it’s all in the past.”

this  didn’t  feel   right  .    perhaps  ,  for  a  long  time ,  it  wouldn’t  .   its  alarming  how  much  comfort   felicia's  presence  inspires  ,  adding  onto  the  vague  fear  that  he  won’t  leave  with  everything  in  his  pockets ,  but  reilly  presses  those  thoughts  far  back .    swaying   slightly ,  he  soothes  his  nerves  with  the  motion  .   “   is this the part where you stab me  ?     ”  he  jokes  ,  his  gaze  on  the  other.  there’s  the  smallest  smile  on  his  face ,  but  its  lacking  in  sincerity     ---     no  doubt  felicia   had  seen  right  through  it  .     so    ...  WHAT’S  THE  ANGLE  HERE  ?   maybe  she’s  bored   ?   a   cat  on  the  prowl  for  a  new  spider  to  paw  at  .  he  remembers  their  last  conversation  well  ,  (  he  remembers  that  wicked  grin  and  flashing  gaze    ---    you  might  want to watch your back, reilly   )   .    “    life can’t   be  too  easy ,   gorgeous ,  you  gotta  have  someone  around  to  make  it  harder .      ”     he  knows  exactly  what  he’s  getting  himself  into   .   will he regret it   ?    only  time  will  tell ,  and  by  time   …  probably  less  than  10  seconds  .    / @partyhcrdy
