I’m back from camping!

And with that return comes a long in the works character. She’s like an oc? Kinda? A NPC oc if you will.

This is Nana, aka Luckybug, Ladybug’s predecessor. She was Paris’s solo hero during the early 2000s, fighting crime for 10 years until she met her biggest opponent, Shadowquill/Hawkmoth.  She sets the current events of the rebooted show in motion.

She’s stuffed with references to early 2000s magical girl shows. Can you find them all? I did my best to create a character for a typical 2000s show. Many characters, namely Alya, are big fans of Luckybug.

More info about her to be revealed later!

And before anyone asks, no Luckybug will not get a powered up form. She never achieved it.

Tada! After a whole semester of researching, and sketching, and painting, and procrastinating, and painting, and inking-

I bring you, four former Ladybugs, and one who is presently very near to my heart. <3 For each of the designs, I tried to keep in mind the current fashion, the materials/dyes available, and the importance of actually being able to fight in the super suit (no capes!)  

Also, if you’re wondering, I can’t say what era or kingdom the Indian Ladybug is from, but I can tell you she was a Bharata Natyam dancer.

I made my own past Ladybug because hell yeah I can.

I made my own Past Ladybug for my story so here is Madam Conccinelle, or her real name Coquette. Coquette is a farmers daughter who lived on the outskirts of Paris and was suffering at the hands of the rich elite of Paris. Seeing her people starve she was gifted the earrings by a man in the street after she gave him her last loaf of bread with no charge, in return he gave her a small box with earrings. Coquette uses the Ladybug Miraculous to sneak into Versallies and take down corrupted politicians or nobles. She is the center of all attention with her beauty and brains making her a rival to a Counts son (Count Noir) who is one of King Louis trusted advisors and doesn’t like Conccinelle due to her flirtatious and manipulative ways with the court. Madam Conccinelle and Count Noir don’t like each other at first but eventually fall in love after learning more about each other. Coquette is actually the first Ladybug in history to seduce her Black Cat and fall in love with him first.

Sadly Coquette gets framed during the French Revolution by the Count so she takes the fall while their family escapes and is beheaded before her Black Cat could stop the beheading.
