Making a Baking Journal
This post is inspired by these posts by @dreamgrlarchive & @prissygrlsorority
disclaimer: this post is heavily inspired by @tomb-of-ligeia and @daphne-dauphinoise, and early 2010s beauty youtubers. it’s always kind to
In companionship to my beauty binder, I made what’s called a “fashion diary.” I keep all my fashion inspo in it and actually transferred som
Since I'm also planning a beauty binder and fashion diary, I wanted to create the concept of a baking journal for all pastry princesses (like me lol)
Setting up Your Journal
Decorate your journal any way you like! My journal's gonna be inspired by every single cookbook I have in my room lol
Section your journal into at least 5 sections (intro, inspo, wishlist, recipes, references)
Be as creative as you want!
Sectioning Your Journal
Intro
The intro page is gonna be your food likes and dislikes, allergies, favorite flavors & scents, the main recipes you wanna make, and why you made this baking journal. The intro should be the very first page
Wishlist
This page will be full of your dream baking items (mixing bowls, utensils, decorating supplies, cake stands, etc.)
Some of my wishlist items:
pink stand mixer
cake decorating tips & piping bags
pink oven mitts
pink apron
Recipes
Any recipes you wanna make will all be in this section
Inspo (the picture is from my baking journal board on pintrest):
I recommend writing the recipes in your journal as it has more space for writing/drawing/pictures, but you could create a mini binder full of recipe cards (index cards with your favorite recipes) that could accompany you baking journal
References
Where you usually get your baking supplies
Example: I usually get my baking mixes, frostings and decorations from Walmart, cookie cutters/cake pans from Michael's/Walmart, etc.
Reminder to all: this is only a guide for bakers and you don't have to make your baking journal in a certain way. You can create your own baking journal however you'd like and be as creative as you want!
