Found this cute lil stool cleaning out my great aunt’s house. The holes don’t really bother me, as they don’t impede the item’s function, but it would look nice. And perhaps protect it from future kitty depredation.

Trying to get back into actually doing projects now that the move is complete and I’m finally getting my studio workspace set up.

I’d never had to patch holes in plaster and lathe before, and proceeded in the normal fashion, trying to slip strapping into the hole like you would with drywall.  That was really difficult (at least in the small holes I was trying to patch.)

I got smarter on my second hole, and used the lathe itself as the strapping.  All I had to do was cut the hole a bit bigger than my hole, like so:

Sashiko jeans mending project #2 was completed in just two short sessions.  These are a favorite pair of purple jeans. I did this repair on the outside of the pants, again fixing a hole that had formed in the upper thigh. I simply spiraled around in a square, following the shape of the plaid fabric patch. I pinked the edges to cut down on threads and shedding, but they will still fuzz and develop some character.

Hi! So I've been looking to customize some MH and EAH dolls, and I saw the Jane boolittle that you rerooted with the color cranberry? I love the length, so I wanted to ask, what size hank do you buy? Along with that, did you knot the ends of the hair, or push it in by the middle? And how many hanks do you need to fill a MH or EAH doll head? Next part, so I ended up kinda destroying a dolls part line while taking the hair out, so do you know a way to fix that? Thanks so much😊❤️

Hiya! Jane’s hair color is from RestoreDoll.com and I’m not sure if it’s a typo or not, but they named it Crandberry. The way that they sell saran, most listings are $5.95 and include 2 skeins, though they have a hand full of cheaper colors and a smattering of slightly more expensive ones.

It comes in a loop and for Jane’s length, I just cut the loop open at one end and the 2 skeins is enough for one Monster High doll. Oh and yes, I did the rooting tool thing, so I fold the strands in the middle.

oh durrr.... I was just sitting around and suddenly realized that I forgot to answer about the parting line.
