This is the real start of Elyes facing his love for Pat and Pat having to face what being loved by Elyes means and not all of it is good.
Oh, Pat. I love you on so many levels. And Elyes is, indeed, an idiot. And you are gonna have to teach him so much if you have any hopes of a romance with him because he's a real dumbass when it comes to this.
Sigh. And Elyes is still smiling like he said the right thing and he's an idiot. Like he's trying to win Pat over but he's out here just ripping his heart out at every turn. The worst part is that he's genuinely working with Kim. He's meeting with Kim for work and not letting Pat know that's what they're doing so he's just breaking Pat's heart for nothing.
I genuinely don't know what Elyes is thinking but whatever it is probably relates to trauma and being an idiot. Poor tiny Pat. He deserves better than this. (Ironically, knowing that he's meeting with Kim for work this time actually changes a lot of this but it's still dumb.)
He made a choice and Elyes has no idea because he doesn't understand.

I love that once Elyes goes in, he goes all in. He might be a nightmare but he's a nightmare in love. And he has turned out to be a better communicator than you'd guess. Not good by any means but... better.
Pat's joy when Elyes hung up on Kim and didn't give him the time of day.
These two are just on a rollercoaster of no communication skills and no coping skills and being in love with each other in all the worst ways.
