RIGHT? Like really? You are a Master Jedi, we are led to believe this is not your first rodeo (and seriously cannot be the first time you have been stranded/needed to get yourself out of a situation similar to this) and we are supposed to just accept that he goes to one shop, talked to one person, in an ENTIRE town (hell on the ENTIRE PLANET) and just thought “well there is no way his information isn’t 1000% correct” Like really? They are even in a small town, he could have easily secured transport and gone to check in Anchorhead or Mos Eisley if he found that only Watto had the goods he needed in Mos Espa. Also I really doubt the Queen didn't have some jewelry that would have fetched a pretty penny and there is probably at least one place on that planet where he could have exchanged those credits for local currency.

My point is that as much as I love Qui-Gon (and I really do) there were so many options he could have explored before putting everything at risk for some random kid they found at the only shop they bothered to go to.
