Senator Patrick Leahy (VT) has appeared in five Batman films and voiced a character in Batman the Animated Series. He also wrote the foreword to the Dark Knight Archives vol. 1, the preface essay for Batman: Death of Innocence, and the introduction to Green Arrow: The Archer's Quest. The coolest thing though, is that he donates any payment or royalties from his cameos to the Kellogg-Hubbard Library in VT where he read comics as a child.

So I learnt something incredibly fascinating and I needed to share it with everyone.
This is Senator Patrick Leahy of Vermont, the man third in line of succession to the Presidency and current President Pro Tempore of the US Senate. He was first elected in 1975 (and is currently the only still serving US Congressperson to have served while Gerald Ford was President) and is the only Democratic Senator in Vermont's history, as his more famous counterpart Bernie Sanders is an Independent Senator. But thats not the interesting part, this is just window shopping.
Because Im willing to bet most people have actually seen Senator Leahy and havent realized it. Cause you see, one of Leahy's biggest interests is Batman and DC comics, and its been a passion of his since he was a young man. He has such a strong love for Batman that hes actually starred in five Batman movies.
