A few other announcers would mention Cole’s email Friday but nothing would develop. While I would not be seeking attention I would have to make one brief public statement over the weekend upon learning of the death of former Trinidad and Tobago Prime Minister Patrick Manning. The first to mention it would be Margaret Elcock on radio station 98.1 in Trinidad. The station is called Isaac 98.1 and has a religious format sometimes including Avonelle’s husband Christopher Joseph. Her show is on from 6 to 9 weekdays and she would note my message among others from dignitaries.
Elcock: Stretching beyond our own borders now we have a message from an American celebrity, entertainer Phil Cole, in-law of our friend Christopher Joseph and his lovely wife Avonelle. He’s from the US but always has Trinidad on his mind. This is what he said.
