I myself had two that matched me, and I can't decide which should be my actual one! It's between the eagle or the mastiff.

Friendly reminder that admin had a quarter life bird identity crisis on Pottermore

Okay, context. Buckle your seat belts because this is a roller coaster.

So, late last year I had some free time at work (I work at my college library and we’re allowed to do homework and stuff), and I decided to finally switch my account over from Pottermore to Wizarding World. I switched over the account, all was well. However, when it asked if I wanted to transfer over my old information I accidentally clicked no. Still, I sorted myself, got my correct house of Ravenclaw. All was well.

Until I went to get my patronus. Now, my original patronus was a magpie. I believe this to be my true patronus, and have always deeply identified with it. So I pray for a bit of luck that I’ll get it.

An eagle. I sigh in disappointment, but it’s pretty cool. I’m a proud Ravenclaw, and it’s my house mascot. Still— it’s not my patronus. So I delete my account, make a new one, and go again.

“Great”, I think, “A bloody heron. What, do I have a thing with birds?” Still, third times the charm, right? I’m getting birds, I’m on the right track.

This is starting to get old. I don’t even know what a fucking nightjar is. And I keep getting excited when my patronus starts flying cause I think I got it, and then the species name shows up. I, however, am a tenacious individual and will not give up.

Okay, I’m officially questioning my human existence. WHY DO I ONLY GET FUCKING BIRDS? Also, is this a commentary on my height? Not appreciated.

The next two rounds, I get a pheasant and a fucking buzzard. This website is mocking me and slowly sending me down a spiral of lesser birdom. Started with an eagle and now we’re here.

I am officially no longer human. I am bird, bird is me. Knock me down and with my wings I shall fly. At least we’re back to cooler birds now.

Throughout the course of the two hours of my shift I also got:

- osprey

- marsh harrier

- adder

- sparrow hawk

- at least two other kinds of owls

During this, I am texting my friends every kind of bird I get, slowly descending into madness as I come to terms with the fact that I AM BIRD. A student checked out a book about birds and I wanted to cry.

Finally, my boss took pity on my bird soul and printed out a guide on how to get magpie. And thus I finally got my true patronus— AFTER GETTING EVERY OTHER FUCKING KIND OF BIRD ONE COULD POSSIBLY GET BESIDES MY ACTUAL PATRONUS.

And that is the story of how I had a quarter life bird identity crisis due to Pottermore. At least I am magpie once again.

Imagine in the future we could use technology to measure the happiness of a memory identify what was happy about it and if the emotion towards the memory would be strong enough to defeat a dementor and able to record your personality just by looking at your brain . We could finally find out an accurate patronus test.

So I got bored some months ago and decided to try and figure out what Patronuses the casts of Danganronpa 1 and 2.  But there aren’t any official descriptions of what each Patronus really means.  So, refusing to give up, I found this spreadsheet from this reddit and guessed what each character would put as their answer, and went through the spreadsheet to figure out their Patronuses.  Why would I expend all of this effort?  Because I wanted to know their Patronuses and by GOD I would figure it out.  And now I have.
