How did everyone get into volleyball?
•Logan wanted to spend more time with his mom. She had been busy and taking care of Janus’ parent so Logan only spent time with the King twins and Janus. So she took all four of them to a volleyball game, since it had a bunch of open seats and was close by. It was during elementary. Logan played middle school volleyball. Janus, Roman, and Remus joined later, but also played in middle school.
•Remy and Antonn saw a game on tv when they had their first cups of coffee. It had kept them awake and Teal had fallen asleep grading with the tv on, and the channel played a game that had happened some time last year. Antonn wanted to play it and Remy tagged along, So they played in middle school at a different one from Logan, Roman, Remus, and Janus.
•Patton went to a beach volleyball game because Dolly loves it. He didn’t play in middle school because he didn’t realize it was a thing. When he saw boy’s volleyball on the list of sports in high school, he immediately signed up. He didn’t expect a gym though. He thought it was beach volleyball.
•Virgil got into it as soon as Joan and Talyn adopted him. They used it as a bonding thing. Virgil fell in love with it and played in middle school.
Dia de Los Muertos
I know I’m not hispanic/latino, but I wanted to wish everyone out there that is a happy Dia de los Muertos. A while back, like, near the start of the AU, I suggested as an anon to @sugarglider9603 that the boys and Thomas all surprise Roman by setting up an ofrenda and doing their best to celebrate the holiday with him, since they practically are his family too. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy this. I used the best of my knowledge from my spanish classes to try and get this as accurate as I could. It’s also not very long. Only 456 words.

Roman looked up into his rear view mirror, where he could clearly see the rest of the minivan. Logan had fallen asleep against the window, earbuds still playing some form of techno music. Dec and Ali were playing cards behind him, Emily helping Dec by looking at Ali's cards. Lucus was reading a book next to Emily, and Castor next to him, staring out the window. His eyes dropped back to the road ahead, painted golden by the setting sun.
It had disappeared completely by the time they reached the hotel they were staying the night at. Patton and Emil had texted to let them know they were already checked in, and to meet them, and Jay, in the lounge area. After several attempts to wake up Logan, Ali resorted to carrying him bridal style, followed by Roman and Emily carrying baggage. Lucus hadn't looked up from his phone, and ended up being gently guided through the door by Castor.
The second Patton saw them, he barrelled towards the group, shouting excitedly.
"Oh my gosh! I saw the competition on the news and he won! I'm so proud of- oh, oops."
Upon realising Logan was asleep, he smiled sheepishly and lowered his voice to a whisper, cooing over him. Emil was the next over, smiling at the group, and even letting out a little laugh at Patton and Emily's antics as they messed about with wide grins, then turned to Roman, with a soft, unreadable look on his face.
"Good luck tomorrow. Jay thinks it too."
Those seven words stunned the whole group into silence. As a chess player, Emil was a man of few words, so the few he spoke were often treasured. The silence was broken by Jay Eudach, manager of the Olympic Village and Roman's elder brother, walking over. The shocked silence took a sharper, measured tone, for the most part. If looks could kill, the one that Emily was giving the manager almost double her height would have ended him five times over. Her words came out like spat poison, an icy edge to rival a glacier.
"Oh. Hello, Eudach."
Jay's tone matched her's in terms of temperature, but had an imperceptibly softer edge to it, that he'd deny to his dying days. He did not regret his decision, and no amount of icky feelings would change that.
"Reece. I seem to remember firing you, so it's a small wonder as to why you're here. Find a new manager already?"
Dec had to hold Emily in place to prevent her from doing something rash, but the intent was blindingly obvious in her look. In order to prevent a homicide, Emil quickly ushered the group upstairs, to their various rooms. Emil and Jay had a room, as did Logan, Roman and Patton, and Ali and Dec. Emily was sharing a room with her new manager, a floor above them, but promised to meet up with them in the morning.
Roman was pacing. He looked at the clock. 3:38 AM. Logan and Patton were both fast asleep. He looked at the clock again. 5:47 AM. Wait what. He blinked, making sure he had the time right, then swore under his breath. Since it was obvious that he wasn't going to sleep tonight, he let himself out of the room, and took the lift down to the lounge. He ordered a coffee at the bar, and watched the sun rise from the horizon.
His 6 AM alarm sent him back up to the room, where the others were just waking up. He couldn't help but admire as Logan and Patton stumbled shirtless round the room, still half asleep. He admired Patton's freckles, and Logan's eyes, and- oh they were looking at him. He made up a half baked excuse, and eventually accompanied them downstairs to meet the others. They were flying in later, so they were having a large breakfast, but warmups started in an hour, so he kissed each of his boyfriends on the cheek, and dashed off, to where the helicopter was waiting to fly him, and later his loved ones, to the track.
Finally. He felt calmer, bound up in his leathers, surrounded by his helmet. He flexed his gloved fingers, and ran a finger along his favourite car. He revved the engine, and he could never get enough of how it purred beneath his touch, eager to race. He maneuvered onto the track, and began his practise laps, cheering as he felt the rush of the wind scraping under his helmet and clawing at his neck. He smiled at the blush of colours painting the early morning sky. He loved racing.
After came the interviews, and he revelled under all the attention, answering every question thrown at him, smiled into every flashing light, and greeted the lucky fans who got to meet him with a charming smile and a keen ear, giving advice to the younger generation of racers. He was known for being very down to earth and humble, and adored meeting hopeful racers. The thought of inspiring the next generation made him feel indescribable.
Finally, it was time. He stepped out of the pits, took the last minute questions, and waved to the cameras, grinning at the cheer he heard in response. His smile only grew as he saw his family had taken their places, and the sight filled with newfound enthusiasm. On went his helmet, and he drove up to his starting marker. He focused on the lights, engine at the ready, watching one light, two lights, three four five go green and he was off, half listening to the radio chatter from his pit crew. 52 laps and it would be over for the season. He had to win.
6 laps in, and he was ahead by a full second, eerily silent as he raced, turned, narrowly avoided a pileup, cursing as the safety car pulled out, slowing them down to as slow as their engines were designed to go. 2 more laps, and he was free, tearing ahead. 10 laps, 20, a pit stop to change tires, 30, at 36, he was vying for second place, cursing up a storm at the car in front blocking his every attempt to overtake, whilst narrowly avoiding dropping down to third. 40 laps, 45, a German car had driven off the track, he hoped the driver was okay. 46 laps, 47, 48, another pit stop because it started to rain, 50, 51, he was so close to first place, 52, he could have been done by now, if it hadn't been for the crash, but the laps had to be made up, 53, he was so close, but at 54, he was the second to cross the finish line. He cheered nonetheless, happy to take a podium position.
He pulled into his pit and took off his helmet, cheering with the crowd. His face was flushed, his hair tousled, and his grin so intoxicating. More interviews, more fans, and by the time he was free to leave, he was well and truly ready for a nap. He met up with the group, and all he got was blissful, understanding silence. They knew he needed to sleep. Needless to say, Jay drove them to the airport, to catch their flight to Tokyo. Tomorrow was Patton's gymnastic events, and they needed to cross the world in a very short amount of time. Thank goodness for private jets.

A Sandersides fanfic for @sugarglider9603 and @ask-spiderverse-virgil Sandersides Spider-verse AU
Summary: Roman goes to Virgil when he is feeling down, cue cuddles and food. With guest appearance of Logan, Patton and Grandma Storm.
Warnings?: UH Talks of food, Logan and Patton being cute, Roman and Virgil being cute. if anyone that is reading this thinks that I should put anything else up, please tell me.
It was quiet, the only sound being Virgil’s pen running across the paper. It was late afternoon, around four, and besides his grandmother, he was the only one in the apartment. His parents decided to go on a date right after the got out work later. Virgil didn’t mind, it made him happy that his parents still had date nights, it made them happy too.
A knock on the window distracted him and as he looked away from it he wondered who it could be. Logan had said he was going to take Patton to an early movie at three and he doubted that it was over already. Thomas was filming a video as far as he was aware of and Roman was… Roman was on the fire escape looking everywhere but at him while hugging himself.
Standing up Virgil made his way to the window, opening it and pulling Roman through and into his arms. Though he usually wasn’t one to initiate physical contact first Roman was different. Especially now, with how despondent he looked at the moment.
Holding Roman Virgil could feel how tense he was even as Roman wrapped his arms around him. Virgil kissed the side of Romans head when he laid it down onto his shoulder. They rocked side to side, standing and holding each other. Virgil didn’t say anything about the wet feeling on his shoulder and neck when Roman pulled away from him, just smiling at him.
Speaking softly Virgil bumped his head into Roman’s.
“Hey Flower, what’s going on through that head of yours.”
Roman closes his eyes. “Just….stuff.”
Virgil hummed. “Would you like to talk about it?”
“Not really. Not now at least. I’m just. I don’t know.”
“Okay. Wanna lay down?”
Roman nodded and Virgil walked them to his bed, letting go of him Roman crawls onto the bed, Virgil crawling in after him. Roman laid his head down on Virgil’s chest and they laid there in silence, Roman listening to Virgil’s heartbeat. Virgil ran his fingers through Roman's hair, pulling his boyfriend to him, wanting to protect him from everything.
A soft grumbling sounded throughout the room and Virgil smiled. KIssing Roman’s heard he untangled himself and pulled away.
“I’m going to get us some food, okay Flower?”
Roman nodded, eyes closed, and he snuggled into one of Virgil’s pillows. Smiling at the cute picture his boyfriend made he stood up and made his way to the kitchen. He stopped by the living room, where Grandma was watching he shows, he told her that Roman was here and that he would be staying over. Grandma didn’t question why, nor how she didn’t see him come in which Virgil was grateful for.
Instead, she nodded, “I make extra tonight then?”
“Alright grandma, I’m just going to get a snack for the two of us to hold us over.”
“Hmmm, don’t have too much fun in your bedroom, I don’t want to hear you through these thin walls. Don’t think the neighbor do either.”
“Grandma!”
Grandma crackled while Virgil tried to hid his blushing face. Instead of trying to explain that no they would not be doing that, it was no use and it would only make his grandma laugh even more, he made his way into the kitchen. Walking around the kitchen he grabbed a few snacks, the spicy ones that no one in the house would eat but that Virgil’s mother had got for when Roman came over.
Walking back he opened his door and shut it behind him, Roman sat up when he heard the door shut. Virgil shook his head in amusement when Roman held his arms out for a hug. He set the snacks down and sat on the bed Roman cuddling into again. Running his fingers in Roman’s hair again he brought them the wall. Handing the snacks to Roman he made sure that he ate at least half of what he had brought before he let Roman fall asleep fully
When that happened Virgil set the snacks on his bedside table before cuddling Roman. He hummed a little before putting on some music for background music. Virgil fell asleep holding Roman to his chest, both had soft smiles gracing their lips.
Hours later Logan and Patton stopped outside the apartment ready to say goodbye until patrol when Patton got a call. Logan stepped back to let Patton answer, watching Patton’s expression go from happy to worried. Holding his boyfriend's hand he waited until he hung up to ask what was wrong. Patton gripped his and took a deep breath before answering him.
“That was Roman’s mom, he hasn’t come back since he left to go see Virgil. She hasn’t got a text or call either. She called his phone but it went to voicemail. She asked if I could see if he was still with Virg.”
Logan frowned, though he was already leading Patton into the building and to the elevator. In the elevator, he rubbed Patton’s knuckles as comfort.
“Don’t worry, we can go up to my room and get to Virgil’s through the escape ladder. It could be that the phone is buried under something and he can’t hear it. Or it died.”
Patton nodded and they were silent. The two reached Logan’s floor and made their way to Logan’s apartment. Logan unlocked the door and the two quietly made their way to Logan’s bedroom. Logan made his way to the window first, opening it and standing on the fire escape waiting for Patton. Logan held Paton hand to help him out, not that he needed it but it felt nice to hold Patton’s hand in any situation Logan found, before making his way to Virgil’s window.
He paused, Virgil's window was slightly open and the curtains weren’t fully covering it. Frowning he opened it silently and throwing a leg inside he looked into the room. HIs frown melted into a tender smile as he saw the two that he was looking for. They made a cute picture, Roman with his head on Virgil’s chest and arms wrapped around Virgil’s waist. Virgil had his own arm around Roman, legs twined together with the others.
Logan shook his head and pulled himself fully into the room, motioning for Patton to be quiet. Patton nodded, smiling a bit and taking a picture of the two before leaving to go back to Logan’s room, going to call Roman’s mom and tell her that he was okay. Logan, on the other hand, made his way to the main part of the apartment to grab a blanket to throw over the two.
Logan stopped by the living room, both to say hi to Grandma and to tell her that the two were asleep before he finally grabbed the blanket. Sneaking back into Virgil’s room he carefully laid the quilt on them, taking care not to wake them up, before taking a picture for himself. Done, Logan crawled out the window and closed it behind him. Crawling back into his room he saw Patton still on the phone, though he soon hung up when he saw Logan coming back in.
“Auntie knows where Roman is, she’s going to call the school and tell them he is sick tomorrow. Will you text Virgil later tonight and tell him?”
“Of course. I think it is a good idea for the two of them to get out of school tomorrow. Roman has been working hard on his part for the play and Virgil with trying to get this one move for his dance class, plus his schooling.”
Patton huffed with a concerned smile. “Working themselves till they can’t anymore.”
“Hmhmm.”
Logan let Patton pull him into a hug. Both were worried about their friends, both had the habit of obsessively working on something until it was in their opinion perfect. In their eyes, it was never where they wanted it so they tended to work and work until they collapsed. Before Roman and Patton were around, Logan remembered the first time it happened to Virgil. He was younger and didn’t really know what to do, now older he did, but it still worried him. He was just glad that he had Patton to help in taking care of his friend, even Roman would help, something that made Logan trust the dramatic boy with Virgil.
Somewhere in the apartment, a door opens and Logan’s mom calls out to him. Sighing Logan pulls away from Patton and calls back to her. Patton smiles at him pulls him in for one last hug, kissing him on the cheek Patton makes his way to the window and waves goodbye. Logan watches as Patton jumps from landing to landing before he hits the ground and walks out of the alleyway. His mother calls out to him again and Logan goes out to help her with the groceries.
