Mallard on the Riverside, a play in three acts. This duck had been hanging out on a beach on Point Patience on the Patuxent River while I was taking pictures on the nearby fishing pier. He decided to leave around the same time I did and walked directly under the pier where I was standing. He walked past a horseshoe crab that was riding the surf and then turned away from beach and took the trail through the tall grass back, I assume, to wherever his nest was.
