If you don't understand why, for over two years, the Jews in your life keep constantly talking about antisemitism, then you haven't been listening.
What happened at Nova can happen (has happened) in Australia. What happened in Australia can happen (has happened) in England. What happened in England can happen (has happened) in LA. What happened in LA can happen (has happened) in San Diego.
There are so many more places I could add to the list.
All over the country. All over the world. Jews have been attacked. Have been murdered.
And all over the country. All over the world. Non-Jews have largely chosen to turn a blind eye. A deaf ear.
Those who've done more, we see you and we appreciate you.
But those who have done more are such a small portion of the larger population.
What will you have to say when it happens in your community? What have you said when it did?
If you cared enough to post and shout about the lives of any other group, but are silent when it comes to Jews, whether it be because it's "unpopular" to speak up, or because it doesn't seem close enough to you. The blood is on your hands too.
If you found it in yourself to speak about anyone else, why are Jews not enough for you to speak?
Our lives are on the line.
Remember Paul Kessler. Remember Matilda. Remember Benjamin Harouni. Remember Alexander Kleytman. Remember every victim of anti-Jewish violence.
And remember your silence.
Because we remember, both.
