I am going to apologize though because I am also going to use this ask to try to drum up some more interesting from the 911 Lone Star crowd to sign up for the @911holidayzine

Make Me Write

Marjan had fallen back asleep in the Uber from the airport the apartment complex where his mom and sister still live. Paul thinks its a testament to just how exhausted Marjan actually is, because she has been a high strung, anxious bundle of nerves for the entire past week. She's been so worried about spending Kwanzza with the entire extended Strickland family that she had even snapped at Mateo.

That's not completely accurate, Paul thinks watching Marjan disappear into Naomi's bedroom with his sister for a few more hours of sleep before the festivities begin. It's not Kwanzza that has Marjan so anxious. They've celebrated the holiday together in Austin countless times. But this is the first time they are celebrating a holiday after getting engaged, more than that this is Marjan's first time meeting Paul's entire extended family and she's terrified they won't approve of her.

Paul would never say it to Marjan's face but the idea is completely preposterous. How could anyone, especially his family, not approve of Marjan?

I don’t know if Paul and Marjan will ever date. Marjan seems pretty invested in her faith and believes wholeheartedly in assisted marriage and marrying a muslim.

Maybe so, but it’s nice to imagine it. I doubt the writers would do it, but who knows. Either way, I love Paul and Marjan’s friendship, so it won’t be the end of the world, but I don’t know, even though Marjan is very invested in her faith, I don’t know that it would be something that would stop her, especially bc and maybe I missed it, but I don’t think Paul affiliated himself with any religion.

But I can’t really speak on that, so it’s just a little headcanon for my little self :D
