To celebrate the fact that I’ve finally finished editing, I’ll share a cute doggo pawtrait with you from my final images 😌

We Interrupt your Series of Hamster-in-Hamster-Mugs Compilation Posts to bring you this brief advertisement for pet portraiture mugs! So say you want to get a personalized portrait of your hamster put on a mug instead of a photograph. Where can you go?  One place (the place these 3 images came from) is printypets.com It came to my attention only very recently and it does the portraiture and the mug printing both.

But what if you don’t like the style of portrait they offer? There is another site I know of that does imagery and mug printing both, though it doesn't offer custom illustrations so much as it offers custom photoshopped photos. It sells relatively affordable mugs (a little over $30 each) that can be printed with a number of different framed-art portrait styles (mostly renaissance) that you can choose from and they will replace the face of the cat or dog in the example portrait shown to show the face of your hamster instead (as taken from a photo you would provide for them) You can see the options at noblepawtrait.com/collections/mug

Third is an etsy shop that will take a photo of your pet and photoshop it to make it “cutout”-style and print it on a mug. See THIS LINK or, if the link is broken, look up the HedgehogsAndHoneydew shop on Etsy and search for “custom pet mug”. If you don’t find any results, send the seller a message.  Ok, but what if you don’t like ANY of those art styles? You can get any art style you want if you are willing to use 2 different sites: first use one site to get a digital illustration done for you (or a digital scan of a hand-drawn/painted-illustration), have it sent to you as an image file, and then use that image file instead of a photo when creating a mug on a 2nd site like cafepress, zazzle, society6, redbubble, etc. But where can you get a digital illustration of your pet? There are plenty of sites out there that offer the service, but most of them are very expensive (think upwards of $200). One exception is mydigitalpet.com where prices average around $24. My personal recommendation, however, would be to search for people willing to do pet portraits on etsy or on fivver: Links for those would be fiverr.com/gigs/pet-illustration or etsy.com/market/custom_pet_portrait Ok, we now return from this brief interruption to brink you back to your official Hamsters-In-Hamster-Mugs Compilation Series content...

Prince’s pawtrait raising money for The Mayhew Animal Home

The Mayhew Animal Home is celebrating the fact that one of its longest stay residents has finally found a forever home. Poor Prince had spent almost a year – 330 days – at the home before he found his happily ever after.
