Hey guys, how’s isolation treating you?

For the past weeks, I’ve been experimenting with abstract illustration basically to help myself get familiarized with digital tools (because, sad to say, it’s more cheaper and time-saving than traditional methods) practice lines, study form (ish) and color. These two are #madewithpaper app by WeTransfer. It has been one of my fave drawing apps since 2015.

It was such a relief to try and resrict myself with 3 colors. For me, this was also a practice to step back and look at the big picture rather than sweating the smallest details. In fact, this has more psychological effect on me rather than technically helping me to enhance my skills or develop a style. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Nevertheless, I find it enriching to know that one can learn about yourself when engaged with an activity such as drawing. Now, I’m beginning to have an interest in art therapy. 🤔

This most recent one I did was made in Procreate. I can say I am leaning towards abstract landscape pieces than this style. My next step is to draw human forms which I haven’t done in a long while and I’m quite scared haha

Late night songwriting. I don't usually do things with this much twang but sometimes you gotta take what ya get when writing. An oil painting I did back in 2015 for my mother. As an artist iv gone through allot of phases..growing up I did gothic art everything was black, everything was creepy. After so long I felt like I beat dark art to death and felt like I should morph and grow into something more universal, so I started using high contrast colors and drawing things other then skulls, pentagrams, demons ect. Before that it was street art. I think it's really important to get out of your safe zone and do new things
