Pax Am Days
I finished these on July 24, 2021
Wave four design reference pictured above.
As I mentioned in previous design descriptions, the skull print and the checkering and the black glitter were all Vans custom options. So this one had very little to do once it arrived, especially in comparison to my infinities.
Step one: set it up in Vans Customizer
This was easy. They looked almost exactly as pictured. They arrived as such:
Enjoy my kitchen table, a refreshing change of pace from my bedroom carpet featuring occasional floor off brand pillow pet.
Step two: get painting (and writing?)
I painted the YBC symbol on the backs of both heels (pretty effortless work) and covered them with sealant. After they dried, I wrote Pax Am Days on the tread with sharpie, and then let that dry.
Step three: bling baby bling
There was only one accessory for these, a barbed wire pin I got from marjdotjpg on Etsy. This was the hard part. The pin had two tines (prongs? Arms?) and I had to make sure to stick the pin in secure enough that I couldn’t shake it out ( so if I ever wore them somewhere lowkey it wouldn’t fall out with the movement) but also thick enough so it could be wearable without stabbing my foot. Luckily the slip-ons were probably the most perfect style for this. I had to almost screw it in with how I was twisting it, which almost didn’t work bc of the two tines, but then it was secure! Walking and shaking approved. Didn’t stab my foot. 10/10.
