It was awkward as fuck, he knew that, but the boy ran over, threw the box at the older him- then ditched. Lavi blinked up at the tank that sat in the dead center of lab. It was filled with water and occupied by a magnificent creature. A long and elegant tail was the lower half of his body, the silver scales glinting in the artificial lighting of the lab. He stepped forward, leaning against the edge of it and peering down into it, just barely being able to so at his height.
“Who’s this?” Lavi asked, glancing up at the scientists that stood observing the creature’s lazy, but beautiful movements. It seemed to Lavi that the water-bound man was doing the same as the scientists. Watching and waiting.
“A siren.”
Lavi made a face at the obvious dismissal, frowning and resting his cheek against the palm of his hand. “No shit, Sherlock,” he muttered before turning his one eye back to the siren. “You even understand us, bud?”
