Lavi blinked up at the tank that sat in the dead center of lab. It was filled with water and occupied by a magnificent creature. A long and elegant tail was the lower half of his body, the silver scales glinting in the artificial lighting of the lab. He stepped forward, leaning against the edge of it and peering down into it, just barely being able to so at his height.
“Who’s this?” Lavi asked, glancing up at the scientists that stood observing the creature’s lazy, but beautiful movements. It seemed to Lavi that the water-bound man was doing the same as the scientists. Watching and waiting.
“A siren.”
Lavi made a face at the obvious dismissal, frowning and resting his cheek against the palm of his hand. “No shit, Sherlock,” he muttered before turning his one eye back to the siren. “You even understand us, bud?”

A split second was all anything needed to change and it was more so true in this case. One second they’d been fighting Exorcists, laughter ringing through the air as his brothers and sisters tore them to shreds. Then everything came to a quick and crumbling halt. For Tyki, at the very least, the entire battle had come to a standstill when he saw one of the newcomers on the battlefield—a familiar face to him, one he hoped never to see here.
Everything was different where Allen Walker was involved. A boy of barely sixteen and he changed everything and everyone around him. Even Tyki had changed, though he hadn’t noticed it until Road had been so kind as to point it out. He was lucky she didn’t know the reason for the change; he was lucky they’d both made an effort to keep it a secret for very obvious and concerning legal reasons, with Allen’s father the only other person aware of them.
Would he even recognize him like this? With tanned skin darkened to an almost sickly gray and a row of stigmata running across his forehead, would he even have the slightest clue who he was?
Tyki knew it didn’t matter. Standing there and looking at the white-haired boy he now couldn’t avoid calling an Exorcist, he knew it would be impossible to continue fighting this battle, much less win it. And oh, how much worse it would be if Allen looked back at him and recognized him. I wanted to keep this from you, Kitten.
Gold eyes were wide with shock, but deep inside, he was praying to whatever god still existed in this world that the boy wouldn’t hate him come tomorrow.

Allen couldn’t move, that was probably the worst thing about this. He could maneuver enough to eat or things like that, but to actually move was impossible. The weight of the seals on him were almost painful, or maybe that was his mind giving him pain to justify the resentment he felt for trying to help. But it was okay, right? He had done the right thing, and they were free from the Order, right? He had helped to set things right, even at the cost of his own freedom, the cost of maybe his entire existence. It was–
The thought was shattered when he saw who exactly walked in- not the familiar visage that was link, but Alma. “Wh-why?” he whimpered suddenly, eyes that seemed neither silver nor gold staring up at him, almost blankly. He struggled to move, though it was obvious that he was not getting anywhere. “Wh-why are you ba-back?’ he forced out, closing his eyes. Food- no, he was not eating, he didn’t trust it. Allen just slumped back down completely, defeated for the moment. “Wh-what? What is it…?’ he didn’t seem very hostile towards the male, but he didn’t feel the need to be. He had seen enough to know that he should not blame Alma for anything that had happened to him- he was a victim and Allen could not hold any hate for the other male.
| ❖ | Alma was familiar with that expression on the the other’s face. And he didn’t want to remember those feelings. Maybe it hadn’t been such a bad idea to send him here in Link’s place.
But there was this thing that, of course, confused the white-haired exorcist. “I know you are confused. I was too when I woke up. But know the Order keeps me as some kind of prisoner. Daily experiments included. But I think you’re still a worse case.” Alma put down the tray and placed the books on the floor. “They sent me because inspector Link is on a mission today. Please eat something. I can tell you everything else while you’re eating. And if you need something please let me know I’m in your debt.” A small pause until Alma bowed deeply. “I have to thank you for what you did for Yuu and me.”
To finally be able to show his thankfulness had been the reason why Alma agreed on volunteering to bring Allen the meal.

Link was concerned with Allen’s well being, “just don’t throw up or anything….” He muttered

Link walked around the haunted house with Allen. “This is ridiculous... It’s fake...” It would sounds like something someone who is scared would say. He was used to things like this. Sometimes other friends of his would take him to useless amusement parks and childish things like this.
