So proud of this shot I did with @nathanpazsint. To see it getting so much praise is just the cherry on top of it all. I not only got to work on an amazing piece with a fantastic photographer--- but that photographer became one of my good friends. So, win win. A couple weeks ago I was completely floored to receive word that my photograph "There's Always Room for D-E-N-T-U-R-E-S" had been awarded by the Moscow international Photo Awards, but now Photographer's Forum Magazine has done the same. Officially one of their "Best of 2016", I find myself in humbling company and it makes standing over a pot of boiling dentures for an evening worth all the effort. The published book is excruciatingly expense so save your pennies to buy a copy of BRUISER and I'll post some images when I receive my copy later this year. A sincere thank you to Photographer's Forum for the honor and to my subject @theheftyhideaway who learned the hard way how long you have to stand perfectly still for me while I poke, prod, and style you to get my photo. Really proud of my friend, @nathanpazsint! He has been working so hard on Bruiser... and this is only issue one! This cat has way more magic up his sleeves, my friends! I am proud to say I am featured in this too... which is SUCH AN HONOR! I am just so excited for this and everything Nathan will be putting out in the future. This is gorgeous! #Repost @nathanpazsint ・・・ From the upcoming premiere issue of BRUISER: When I first caught a glimpse of @little_bird_mari online, I knew immediately I wanted to photograph her. She's got it, in the most immediate and undeniable way. She had never been photographed professionally before but her mother is a former model and she was excited to have a chance to experience it too. When it came time to post this shot, we talked candidly about wether or not she wanted to make public that she wasn't just a new face, but a trans woman who was proud of her identity. In short, Marjorie felt that after the tragedy in Orlando she wanted to stand tall and proud as a trans person, and advocate for others that may be struggling. So this image is dedicated to both Marjorie and all those affected by the bigotry we see all too often, and a big f*** you to those that would try to harm instead of heal.
