Clover Fir: You see... the pirate Roman did arrive in Peanut Brittle Bay, but Sirena Sangue wasn’t found along the way... she had traveled with him for many years. In fact, she was the more ruthless pirate of the two, something unheard of during their time.

Abby: I like her already!

Clover Fir: The two founded the Bay, living close to the shore as Sirena was drawn to the water. Soon, Sirena found herself with child and she started to change in ways that made her difference more pronounced-

Violet: Yeah, but mermaids aren’t real, so-

Clover Fir: Maybe not now... but she was, Sirena was a mermaid and for that reason- she was murdered.

Clover Fir: Have you ever wondered why the first Old Main burned? The curse. Back in those days, the Sangue Stones were once displayed outside New Main- the rocks that surrounded the fire that claimed the life of Sirena Sangue. After Old Main burnt, the stones remained, intact... and then went missing. 

[excited chatter]

Clover Fir: And so now, in tradition with the Tri-Vars that came before me- we will attempt to find the stones, and you will begin the process of becoming a Tri-Var Trident! Are you ready, ladies?!

[hula-zombie]

Clover Fir: She tried to remain hidden, to protect herself and her unborn child... but the water called to her in ways we could never understand, and soon she was discovered to be something deemed other worldly. For that reason, and that reason alone... she was burned at the stake.

[gasping]

Clover Fir: As she burned, Roman wept and repeated a chant to himself- growing louder and louder as the flames consumed all that he had loved. A curse, some say, he left on the Bay and on the land... a curse on the spot where his beloved was eclipsed by flames.

Violet: ... and this has to do with breaking in New Old Main, how?

Peanut Brittle Bay University 

Founded nearly 100 years ago, this University is grounded in the history of Peanut Brittle Bay and the Dread Pirate Roman who founded the first colony in the area. 

The true history of his wife, Sirena Sangue, has been heavily debated throughout the years... but the lore surrounding her life has been embraced by the recent University administration.

The artwork of this exhibit is currently on loan from the private gallery of Phlox Nightshade.

Violet: I think the coffee shop is up this way-

Clover: What? No ice-cream for lunch? 

Robin: Those two-

Onyx: They’ll figure things out. Just give them time.

Robin: It’s been.. a year.

Onyx: And good things take time.

The account of Peanut Brittle Bay’s founding would be remiss not to include the lore surrounding Sirena Sangue, who was believed to have been... other worldly.

With the loss of his wife and love, Roman left Peanut Brittle Bay for the sea- a place he found to be more forgiving than land. 

He was never seen again. 

Violet: Are you done now? 

Clover: You said you wanted to get familiar with campus-

Violet: Yeah, but this is all doom and gloom and mermaids aren’t real, so let’s get out of here!

[giggling]

But with difference, comes danger- and as Peanut Brittle Bay grew, so too grew the suspicion of the townspeople. Believed to be a siren of the sea, Sirena Sangue was tried by fire. 

She did not survive.
