My first time entry to the Character Design Challenge. (Facebook) The Vampire Moth (Calyptra Thalictri) : A sub-species to the Common Vampire, these creatures are unnaturally attracted to light sources, despite the resulting burns of long exposure. Their larvae will often choose lamp posts for the cocoon stage; this may be to deter other vampire species from eating them.
