In honor of todayâs #AppleEvent hereâs a hilariously-dated Mac-vs-PC comparison from the first issue of MacAddict magazine in 1996. The cast of Friends playing with their Tamagotchis while drinking Surge and listening to Alanis Morisette is less 90s than this.
I had to do some digging to find the screengrab, but the ask about why Dobson is a hardcore Mac guy reminded me of this. He was actually a PC guy back in the day and only switched because his girlfrend at the time bought a Mac and he was jealous. Not super exciting but it's interesting when you see how hardcore of a Mac stan he was after this.Â

I'm sorry but I'm so hung up on one particular thing in that Mac vs PC comic: what the hell does he mean when he says "to meet your arbitrary needs"? What about the needs are arbitrary? Can a "need" even BE arbitrary? And isn't his point that Macs are better at meeting these needs than PCs are? If so then why is it a point in favor of Macs if the needs are arbitrary? It's just so impressive that he's able to achieve this level of bafflement in so few words.

Another thing I noticed in the mac vs pc comic, doesn't Dobson like McDonald's why is he trying to compare it to something he apparently doesn't like. Was that comic made after he found out Trump liked Mickey D's or something? I just found it strange that he would use McDonald's instead of like burger king or something of that ilk when he had such an obvious love for it.
The PC vs Mac comic was from years before Trump was President, actually. But yes, Dobsonâs been on record multiple times saying McDonalds is his favorite. Itâs why he was so mad that time Trump ordered McDonalds for that college team and tried to claim it was a racist thing.
A bit more proof to the âDobson is mad that Trump likes McDonaldâsâ statement.
Is Dobson a Mac boy? If he is, that explains why he puts up with Mac's artificial tomfoolery. Then again, you'd think he'd invest in better tech, given this is, I dunno, his job or something?

But hey, there were always some asshole shit-talking each other over which computer was better back in the day, right? He has his preference, leave him to it.
Ah, but this blog is about his hypocritical views, now isnât it?
See, a little over a year ago, someone called him old on this old comic again(I have no idea how often it happens, but I guarantee itâs nowhere near as much as Dobson claims) and Dobson suddenly decided to say âlol it was a joke and you all are stupid for not realizing itâ.
Kinda obvious youâre bullshiting when you go âlolâ three separate times, Dobson. Just saying.
So because Macs have fallen out of favor in the ten+ years since Dobson made his condescending comic, he suddenly wants to claim the comic was a âparodyâ, despite it looking nothing of the sort. Typical revisionist history by Dobson, as the anon submitter pointed out very clearly in this post.
But would you like to know the real reason Dobson came up with the âparodyâ excuse? And why so many people were calling him out in recent years? Two reasons.
One, this tweet, made back when he use to do gaming vlogs (sadly all deleted as of last year).
Jackass is actually bragging about his crap computer setup.
The second reason was back when the indie game Undertale had come out, he essentially whines and cried on Twitter about not being able to play it until someone took pity on him and bought him a Steam Key for it.
And then this happened.
He basically tries once to get it to work, then immediately refunded it on Steam while people were trying to help find workarounds for him.
He would later claim to have in fact DID play Undertale and how dare you claim otherwise, despite the fact that he could never get it working on his decade old âsuperiorâ Mac.
