Our inalienable rights, abilities, and pursuits are not simply ideas found in the American Constitution or the Bill of Rights—they are truths ordained by Almighty God Himself. The framers of our nation recognized what the Word of God had already established: that human dignity, freedom, and liberty flow directly from the Creator.
The Scriptures declare in Genesis 1:27 (KJV): “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” From this foundation, every right and freedom springs forth—not from the hand of government, but from the hand of God.
It is both troubling and embarrassing when elected officials or leaders suggest that government is the source of our rights. Government may regulate, restrict, or attempt to redefine—but it can never erase or legislate away what the God of all creation has set forth.
As Acts 5:29 (KJV) reminds us: “We ought to obey God rather than men.” And as the Declaration of Independence boldly affirms, “all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights.”
So let us stand firm in the truth: our rights are not government-issued—they are God-ordained. When we walk in this conviction, we not only honor our heritage as Americans, but we glorify the Lord who is the true Author of freedom.
