Faced with the events that are taking place in Catalonia today, the Political Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Peoples of Spain (PCPE) approves the following DECLARATION:

PCPE expresses its solidarity with all the people who today suffer directly the repression of the State and, in general, with the people of Catalonia who are being denied to exercise a right as inalienable as the right to decide on their own future.

This repressive scenario is a qualitative leap in the progressive and accelerated process of liquidation of formal freedoms in the Spanish state, which has already gone a long way with the approval of increasingly restrictive laws in recent years. Every day, the current dictatorship of capital removes the mask of bourgeois democracy and reveals characteristics that are increasingly authoritarian and undemocratic.
