I recently drafted and sewed up a test pair of cream cotton jeans and I really couldn’t be happier with the fit! I thought I would share some photos of my #memade outfit. First of all, I made these jeans purely out of selfish reasons. I needed some new jeans that weren’t covered in holes and I’m super particular about how I like my jeans to fit. So far these jeans tick all the boxes. Flattering fit (for my body), high waist (but not “mom jeans”), made from sturdy 100% cotton non-stretch denim, button up (or zip), narrow leg without being too restrictive on my calves. I used the narrow pants pattern as my guide and added a back yoke in place of the back darts along with all the other typical jeans pockets. I don’t know whether or not to make this pattern available as a sewing pattern. Mainly because there are already so many great jeans patterns out there! I *will* be releasing my narrow pants pattern (eventually...), however. But let me know if you think you would want yet another jeans sewing pattern as well! (P.S. I’ve worn these quite a few times without washing yet and they have stretched out a bit...) — The top I’m wearing is a tried and true Vogue 9643 pattern in a gingham linen from @fabricsstorecom . I decided to only sew up the bust darts and leave out the waist shaping darts for a more casual blouse. I also added a button front opening instead of the side zip. I love how flattering this neckline is, however I will say cap sleeves aren’t always super flattering on me! I may change the sleeves for a different style the next time I make this blouse. — Okay that was long!
